Thread: Baktrian captain in Makedonian capital

Default Baktrian captain in Makedonian capital

Alright guys, this is getting weirder with the hour. I've got another CTD-causing bug.

Happened during the AI turn, Pella being besieged, and the garrison commander sallying forth. But... he's a Baktrian captain! While Pella is a Makedonian city! And... he's got a unit card in the stack!

I ousted him through ForceDiplomacy, and he pops up as a true Baktrian stack... with captain unit card.

As a matter of fact, several years back, I've had another stack with a separate captain unit. A Makedonian stack with a Getai captain unit card. Note also the differing captain names between stack name and card name.

    So two issues here:

    - what are these captains which seem to have separate units?

    - how does a Baktrian stack end up defending Pella? Baktria is currently still far away east of Persis and hasn't been seen anywhere near Europe. And I've not moved any Baktrian captains, not accidentally either (quite certain about that one).

My game is safe now, I've moved mister Panaetolos back to the Hindu Kush, which he'll prefer to the crowded Makedonian hills. All's well now, but it's not something I'm happy with. (Who would be, in a minute there'll be elephants guarding Bibracte!)

This army-within-an-army bug is exceedingly rare, but it's not our bug either. I have no idea what to do with them.

I like your faction colors, makes it actually possible to see how many soldiers are in a seleucid stack.
And what are those "Peasant" unit cards representing.

I don't know. I don't care about peasant cards when there are actually captain cards in there. The stack is fighting normally, btw. I've been following it and it causes no further problems out there in far-away Baktria.

Those peasant cards must be Makedonian units that have become Baktrian. Baktria can't recruit those normally, so they show up as peasants and will cause a CTD if you ever fight against them. (so auto-calc if you meet them)

Thanks for that, hadn't thought of a mixing up between Macedonians and Baktrians. I do hope those Maks are enjoying their excursion in Sogdiana.
