    Default Mercenaries 2

    WHOOO!!! ITS BACK!

Is anyone else psyched that there's a new Mercenaries coming? The first one was quite possibly the funnest PS2 game ever, in my opinion. I'm even more psyched that I'll be able to play it on my computer, likely on medium settings.

I didn't get the first one, because it's not for Windows, but I was definitely interested.

So I'm rather looking forward to this one. Hope there's a demo.

I definitely love the trailer for the game- brilliant.

I'll probably be picking up the prequel for the PS2 (didn't have a PS2 when the game originally came out) since it's now a bargain bin game and put off the second game til later.

    I second the "Wooo!"

I loved the first one for ps2, and have beaten well over 10 times. I am stoked that there is a second one, and, as I recall, I was jumping for joy when I saw the commercial (which is great, just gotta love it) a link (is in english)

Haha. Well, to be fair, once you get the cheat crate, the game's a lot less challenging(but even more fun )

I second that statement! Is most fun to use the nuke bazooka, and I love the street sweeper as well as the portable artillery. Alas, you annot carry all three..

Bah, the pocket grenade launcher was a joke compared to the portable air strike and street sweeper. Those two weapons were... amazing. Not to mention the all but unlimited ammo.

Agreed. But the portable air strike can be very damaging to your health.

I second that woohoo and times it by 2000. Mercenaries 1 for PS2 was one of my favourites games and will be for a very long time, well, until Mercenaries 2...

My biggest concern is that the game looks ridiculously easy. You run around, shoot and nothing happens to you. Looks like there is no challenge in the game whatsoever, you just gun through whole game. I hope that there are different difficulty levels, but since the game has drop in & drop out COOP I'm doubting that.

    PC or 360???

If all you get on the PC is higher resolution and better AA then I might as well get it on the 360 and play on the big screen TV...

But if there is more to the PC version (and let's not forget it is $10 cheaper) then I have a ninja machine ready to go...

    Arrgghhh the dilema...

Addtionally, it is out in like 2 days... Where are all the reviews? Don't reviewers normal get it a little earlier?

How about a mouse? That alone is enough for me. I've been playing the first game on the PS2 and I'm regularly frustrated by having to aim with a thumb stick.

I don't know about all you guys, But Mercenaries gets released here tomorrow, and I shall be right there waiting...

Just a little question, who is everyone's favourite character?
I personally don't like Mattias that much, Chris is alright but my choice would be Jen.

I preferred Mattias in the first one, as he cracks me up. A major bonus is that he grants you the aility to listen to the mafia leader's ramblings (he wants a monkey, btw)

I have no idea who I will prefer for the second one...

I am getting it for the PS2, mainly for the reason that I hate first or third person shooters on the pc.

    CAME OUT YESTERDAY!!

    But I cant afford it...

    Well, Game Informer gives it a 7.25, and IGN.com a 7.9...
I might pick it up in a few months, once the price goes down.
Unless an orgah really recommends it, of course.

Never trust GameSpot. They aren't written by people who actually know and play games. They are just writing for a paycheck. Case in point: GameSpot gave LAIR (PS3) a 4.5. However, a REAL gamer gives a much different opinion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYSFBx1gYuU (HEAVY language warning)
My suggestion is that you rent a game first before you buy it, and form your own opinion.

GiantBomb, started by Jeff Gertsmann, also gave Merc2 a 'Meh'. (3/5)

Just as well, I already have too many games to play/buy as is. So I think I can safely cross this one off my list. Maybe I'll reconsider once it finds its way into the bargain bins.

I haven't been so much disappointed with some game for a long, long time now. Most disappointing thing is that there are almost 10 other games coming out by the end of this December, and I threw good money away with Mercs 2. Maybe even more, depends on how good they are going to be.

Well this is really disappointing to hear such bad news about a sequel to what was a great game. What a shame.

Just purchased it two days ago. It's not that bad, really. But I probably should've rented it.
