    Post Re: Spirit Mafia

I think Sigurd and/or glyphz and/or Crazed Rabbit need looking at. I'm also going to probably make myself look extremely guilty in the process because I was among those people in receiving a PM from YLC, but regardless.

I somehow think that YLC's death was administered by one of the people he sent a PM to. Last phase I suppose he did make it slightly noticeable that he had a role, but the PM was definite proof to a mafioso who should be murdered.

YLC kind of spoilt the possibility to catch somebody out by stating who he sent a PM to publicly. In private he gave a very very slight hint that he'd PMed somebody else, but this hint wasn't enough for anybody to be able to tell for certain. If this had been the case, the mafioso among them probably would not have revealed their PM - in this case, they were forced to by their name appearing.

Anyhow, for now I'll just place a bit of pressure on YLC's other possibly guilty person

Anything to say for youself after YLC's death.

    Tally:
    FactionHeir - 3 (Crazed Rabbit, woad&fangs, CountArach)

    LittleGrizzly - 1 (Omanes Alexandrapolites)

YLAC's death was indeed untimely. The info he sent us doesn't say much and another night's investigation would have cleared up a few things. I suspect I was the only one getting a bit more?

Factionheir was indeed investigated as his investigator has been martyred and thereby sealed his testimony with blood.
What have you to say FH? The investigation did return an odd message.

    Cool.

@ glyphz: Please give us the date/time stamp of YLC's PM to you (and translate it into GMT), so we can place it into context in our minds.

After Midgard, where mafia were provided fake PMs for 'cover', I've learnt it's wise to scrutinize them as closely as possible.

No offense to either you or YLC; I have no reason to believe you are being anything but truthful. It's just procedure.

What I have to say is what I posted at the start of the game (or rather late in the game). I didn't even realize the game started because I got no PM. Usually I tend to be a lot less active in games where the host does not give townies a townie PM.

That said, you don't have to believe me, but I got a lot of other work to do currently so you'll see me lurking likely till later in the game when I start analyzing things. Right now there isn't much to go by nor does there seem to be any organized townie effort as in Midgard.

I did get a heads up that the game has started PM from makaikhaan.

Several scenarios is possible here. I don't know if I have information that would hurt the town effort.

LoL. And you? You received a PM as well. If you have a longer PM, you should share it with us. It sounds like you do, and I can't imagine why you shouldn't share it.

It seems that YLAC had been targeted before he sent out those PMs - in fact, it was why he sent out those PMs.

    Time stamp? Is it this?
    09-07-2008, 23:58 -->Pacific time. So unless I'm mistaken, that's 6:58 9/8/08 GMT

edit: I can see why others could be suspicious of us 4. To confide in a complete stranger is risky. (Never met, YLaC before that).
To confide in 4? That quadruples the chances, that 1 could, not necessarily must, be mafia. More so now, that YLaC did die less than a day after sending 'em.
Rereading the narration, I'm not sure that we've encountered YLaC's killer before. Definitely not the red humanoid, or the bag-man, could the lightning guy (the strange magic) but I'm not very sure. Definitely not spittin' dwar---- nevermind.

errm am i missing something or are other people inventing something ?

I seemed to miss the part where ylac said i was guilty... i only noticed factionheir mentioned, but now people are voting for me based on absent reasoning (or something i missed)

Fair enough on the suspicious behaviour reasoning, the problem is when i get on i only have my own conclusions to work on, and i think being mafia in midgard has made me look differently at how mafia operate or how they might operate in the thread, that being said according to mafia stratergy last time there's no reason for the mafia to kill me as i keep heat of other suspects, so its a two way street...

Edit, Ok CR that reasoning does make sense, i was slighty clutching at straws for a suspect whilst tired, so i was just quickly scanning for something that could be off...

He said he suspected you in the PM he sent to me. He did not provide any reasoning for the suspicion, but it seemed like you were just suspicious to him. So I'm not putting much weight into it right now.

After a moderate amount of discussion regarding the night's deaths, the servants had found their choice, whom they presented to Makaikhaan. FactionHeir, some alleged, had ties to the recently deceased YourLordandConqueror, an accusation he could not shake. Makaikhaan, who appeared quite tired to all present, did not even question the man sentenced to death, instead grabbing a sword from a guard, and decaptitating FactionHeir before he could even be tied or forced into a kneeling position. Makaikhaan didn't even look to those who were kneeled before him when he turned on a heel, tossing the sword back to the servant.

    Tally:
FactionHeir - 7 (Little Grizzly, Chaotix27, Crazed Rabbit, Caius, woad&fangs, CountArach, Glyphz)

LittleGrizzly - 2 (Omanes Alexandrapolites, Quintus)

    Glyphz - 1 (Shlin28)

    Abstain - 1 (Sigurd Fafnesbane)

    Orders due in 23 hours.

Quintus.JC. was just finishing clearing his room of possessions. He was convinced that the end of the world was nigh, and had correspondingly done his best to abandon every bit of material wealth he had acquired, sans a single meager outfit, giving it all to a nearby shelter for vagabonds. He sincerely hoped that this gesture of good will would engender favour to him by the spirits. He was squatted against the corner of his now barren room, literally counting the seconds of his existence under his breath to nobody in particular. As if to answer his prayers for an end, the door to his room slid open, a red-skinned humanoid, armed with nothing but a book and brush, stepped calmly into the room. Quintus' eyes opened wide, his mouth open with awe.

"You came!" he proclaimed. "You came! I knew it, I knew it, we are being judged! Please, I have been good, I have been good! Look, I gave away all my earthly possessions! I have done my best to be good to my fellow man! What are you wri-?" Quintus' rant was cut short as he keeled over in an instant. The humanoid was snapping its book closed and set the brush back into its belt, a slight shake to its head as it walked out the door.

Woad&Fangs, in contrast, had spent much of the last few days raiding the possessions of his now deceased servant comrades. His stash of fabrics, pottery, oils, and perfumes was now second only to the emperor's in quantity. As he finished taking inventory of every last item, ensuring that nothing was misplaced, he was veritably sucker-punched as the door to his room blew open behind him, a strong gust knocking him into a small bronze statue. He staggered to his feet, backing away from the monster which stood where his door used to be. A creatures stood there, only descernable by the gleaming fangs in its mouth and the bag it held on its shoulder. The creature held the bag up to face Woad&Fangs, and another powerful gust came from the bag, blowing Woad&Fangs through his wall into the courtyard, rolling his body until he hit yet another statue. The statue cracked, and a mute, golden face fell from a neck, onto the face of the unconcious Woad&Fangs. The creature let loose another gale from the bag, which took Woad&Fangs all the way into the forest, rolling the limp body into numerous trees, limbs, and prickly bushes. The body finally came to a stop when it hit a tree squarely, an audible crack echoing from the collision of a skull against bark. The creature peered out into the forest from the courtyard. Apparently satiated, it walked back to the room. Not wanting to be discourteous, a strong gust once more howled, sending the horde of posessions out the hole in the wall of Woad&Fangs' room, out into the forest where the owner now lay.
