Default quite possibly the most epic defense ever

Hi everyone I am new to the community. I have been playing Eb for about 2 weeks now and i love playing the Saka (every victory is a heroic one). I didn't win this one but it was still pretty damn epic.

You are playing as Saka and you used a fort!? My advice would have been to retreat, then get mercs or reinforcements then head back and kill them. You can also attack them and then retreat. Technically you will lose but you will take out a load of their forces. Forts are usually used to hold off enemy troops until reinforcements can arrive or to block passes.

    Nice shot though anyway

Omg I just saw your stats. Thats pretty impressive.

    lawl iknow his strategy...
its quite simple more like a glitch
basically all u do is when the enemy sieges and attack u go out (they will drop rams etc)
run around the towers and let them follow u ..

Thumbs up Re: quite possibly the most epic defense ever

He probably did a combination of taking advantage of the fort's towers(the arrows), and charging wavering units with his heavy bodyguard cavalry.

    Probably took a long time...

You know, it's said that 3 Xiongnu eagle hunters once annihilated a group of 20-30 Chinese horsemen.

Now it can be said that 1 Saka family member's bodyguard can annihilate 1900 Bactrians!

Seriously though, how the hell did you do that?

Yeah, I guess he did something like that. Maybe he even played arcade battles (thnx for the correction), which gives infinite ammo IIRC?

    Heh heh...

Reminds me of the good old days when I fought against the Seleucids as the Parthians. I say good "old days" because now their troops are too heavily armored for a butchering like that to be possible anymore. It's quite possible to win a battle in a massacre like that even without a fort.

I've done it several times with one bodyguard unit and just a few horse archers against vast hordes of levy phalangites and skirmishers. Just stay out of their way, hit them from the rear, and if you run out of arrows isolate a unit from the main army and crush it with the bodyguards. The Bactrians have even fewer armored troops so it facilitates this easier.

Good job. But soon you might get into horse archer duels. Those are generally bloody for both sides of the battle.

BTW what difficulty mode do you play on? Very hard/hard for me...

Welcome to the forums, friend. Nice victory, even in arcade mode.

1900 kills, 2 survivors and only 2 silver experience chevrons? That doesn't sound fair to me. Neither does the amount of enemy that has recovered. When your soldiers die and you win the battle, only small percentage recovers, but when AI soldiers die and AI wins the battle, at least half of their men recovers. Splendid battle anyway.

I know the likelihood of this little, but honestly, did you modify the general's bodyguard stats?

I have won two battles like this one but with two general's bodyguards. I doubt I could have emulated your results with only one unit. The enemy had about 2,500 men (large unit scale) and I had only two FMs in one battle and three in another.

BTW, can you tell us what units you fought against? If it is not a secret of course .

The RTW design the stats should be indicated "kills/injured". It seems wierd saying you killed 1900, but then when your enemy won the battle they can resurrect 842.
