There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
Uh? What?

Don't mess 'round, baby.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

'My baby takes the morning train' is such a sweet song!
I never really liked 'My baby don't mess around' all that much. I never understood what all the fuzz is all about with that song.
Never heard of the third song. Maybe I'll know it when I hear it.

Some colourful use of similes but no f**k like in the last clip
Any man who passed through adolescence in the UK in those days was probably in love with both Sheena Easton and Pamela Stephenson at that point.

'I go forth about to destroy ... I am seen in the golden water; I shall appear unto mortals; I shall strengthen them for the words of war!'
Hymn of the High Priest of Xipe Totec.
My Baby wrote me a letter is a song from the 60's. Most Americans my age know it only because there was a parody of it done in the 80s "Hey Vanna, pick me a letter", with the engaging line "Vanna, I don't mean to stare, but are you wearing underwear, not for me to say.... ANYWAY...".
For those not getting the "Vanna reference", it's for Vanna White, the 'turn the letter' hostess of Wheel of Fortune and star of "Goddess of Love".

I'm gonna go with "My Baby", period. Cause I love Janis Joplin.
But not like that. Just her music, not her appearance... ugh.

I'm gonna see if I can abuse my Mod powers to edit in a Gah! option to the poll. You know how it is, absolute power corrupts, etc.
