Sure, that looks like a beast. I was slightly intimidated when I first saw it, but then I realized there was a simple key to making it make sense in picture form.
Clever and difficult starting line.
Askthepizzaguy (image)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The key was sounding it out. If I could get people to SOUND OUT what I was saying, they would realize that 90% of the image was meant to RHYME.
So, the very first thing I did was tell the next person in line that you're meant to listen, sound it out, hear, whatever. That's represented by the ear, followed by the colon, to indicate you're supposed to LISTEN to the following: (colon.)
3 turtles flying in the sky, multiplied by 1, is 3 turtles flying in the sky.
Ear symbol on the Purple sky (easy enough): sky
Ear symbol on the flying, multiplying turtles (simple): fly, multiply
Ear symbol on Prince, combined with pies (easy if you know who prince is): Prince of pies.
Ear symbol on Prince, with teardrops (easy if you get the rhyme scheme so far): cry/crying/cries
Ear symbol on skull and crossbones, with Prince with his eyes crossed out (easy): dies
Ear symbol on 3 knives (easy): Knives
Ear symbol on each: 5 women, shy smiley face, wedding rings (medium hard): five shy wives
I could not symbolize "wise" and still have it make sense, and I was running out of space, so I ignored the "wise" part.
Goblin plus Pinocchio with an ear symbol (easy): Goblin of lies
Goblin pointing at ties, ear symbol, then the ties pointing at the fryer, ear symbol, with a different colored arrow: the Goblin fries his ties.
Then another reminder to sound it all out. Here's what you get if you do that:
The turtles fly and multiply in the purple sky. The Prince of pies cries, then dies, stabbed by five shy wives with knives. The Goblin of lies fries his ties.
Compare to:
As turtles multiply and fly through purple skies, the Prince of Pies cries and dies as his many shy wives stab him with knives, whilst the wise goblin of lies fries his ties
I give myself a 95% on that one. But you be the judge.
Death is Yonder (caption)

Hearing, the root of everything. Hearing the three koopa paratroop soaring through the sky one time, hearing a film star gushing with admiration for delectable pastries, then hearing him cry when the pastries were stolen, then his death throes as the desperate housewives armed themselves with butcher knives, and cut him to pieces, all smiles. Lastly, the green goblin was caught lying, promptly tied up and roasted to death, screaming.
Definitely very close to what I was going for. Most of the original concept sneaks through. I give it a B+, the only real problem was DIY did not get the rhyming clue (ear symbols).
But hey, that's kind of abstract and you don't normally think outside of the literal for these things.

Arpeg successfully gets all of the main concepts into his image. A+
A lot of the original concept has still survived as well. Maybe 70%.

I once heard a story about a flying Koopa Paratroopa and young Bootsy Collins, when he still had a afro. Bootsy was in love with pastries and so he cried a lot when a criminal came and stole it. Shortly after came the evil housekeeper and cut off Bootsies arms. In the end the Green Goblin was burned to death while entangled with a chain of lights, but maybe it was all a lie, because the Green Goblin kept on thinking about a small boy that grew a very long nose.
The concept transfers easily back into written form, with some variations. I give this one a B+
Much of the original concept is still there... but it's getting near 50% of the original. Some of the concepts still rhyme, but that's pretty much gone now/not noticeable as a pattern.

Well at least Split knows who Bootsy Collins is. The Koopa is an original concept still present, and the pies have become pastries which are still around. The housewives have become an octopode evil housekeeper... the knives have become a samurai blade.
Most of the other concepts have fallen away. Maybe 30% of the original still exists.

I guess Amsel didn't know who Bootsy Collins was either. My sympathies, Amsel! No idea about the scandinavian souvenirs part.
Definitely worth a B+ though.

What we have here is the tragic tale of a sad star who thought rainbows are poop. So he rode a turtle to the Hamburgler, who interrupted his tryst with the Scandinavian polka dancers long enough to direct the sad star to an octopus god who could fix his delusional thinking. But instead the octopus god chopped off one of the star’s rays. Poor sad star.

The Star, disguised as a turtle is thinking rainbows are for s***. This makes him sad. While the hamburgler is thinking he is Ackbar, which makes him happy. Even even though the octopus man is good, he wants to kill the star with the clever, which make the star very sad and hurt.

Rainbow: Check
Poop: yes.
Sad: Yes
Hamburglar: Yes
Ackbar: Yes.
Octo with cleaver: Yes.
Killing the star with a cleaver: Yes.
It describes it pretty well. Good carry over. There's a bit of a flaw with the Star on Turtle transposing to Star disguised as Turtle, but otherwise perfect. A rating!

All of the concepts transfer over, but the Elephant is added in. Very close to perfect. A rating!
Killing concept is gone, and all that remains of the Knives is the axe. I guess it's a blade. But not really enough to warrant any resemblance to the original, since he's not killing anyone.
The original concepts are gone! Nothing of the original survived!

Back when I used to host an EPYC game, one habit of captioners that slightly annoyed me was word-for-word (if that makes sense in this context) description of the image, because that tends to lead to basically the same image over and over again, which isn't much fun. I didn't realise that was what you were aiming for. So basically that's why I said Scandinavian souvenirs. Although I did rather think that the man with the star-shaped shades might have been a Starman thing (because of the Koopa next to it).

This is true, and yes I don't expect an exact description.
I imagine it is expected that you try to match the picture as closely as possible. That's why synonyms or near-synonyms I consider correct; For example Trap = Admiral Ackbar works, because that's a valid thing you think of when you think of the word "trap". And it's also different, which means it isn't the same boring picture over and over.
I don't really consider it a game you "win", I rather think putting it in such a context is ironic, which is why I do it. It would be pretty subjective, and also suck all the fun out of making zany pictures that match words, and vice-versa.
I just didn't see the Scandinavian souvenir/Danish connection; that's my bad for not being imaginative.

Actually, usually the image-makers tend to insert random things into their image (like Saturn) that are misinterpreted by the next guy, so it often ends up being way different at the end than at the beginning anyway.
