It isn't about that, we simply don't have the capacity, I am not ideologically opposed to freedom of settlement. A full stop of 4 years should suffice.

Because his country is full? Just like Belgium, the Netherlands have an insanely high population density. There's no more room. We're already crawling all over each other. There are too many people on so little space and that causes a whole variety of problems.

There also has been a complete lack of immigration policy worthy of the name "immigration policy" the last few decades. Opening the doors, giving people some pieces of paper and a minimum income and then let them find their own way without any help or guidance or obligations like finding a job or learning the local language, whatsoever was sheer stupidity under the guise of "tolerance" and "being open". During the high days of these decades of ongoing stupidity, the most idiotic (referred to by Fragony as "the lefties") even claimed that asking from an immigrant to look for a job or to learn the local languages was "racism" . Next to the overpopulation problem, we thus need to clean our self created mess of our non existant immigration policy first. Then, when the mess has been cleaned and things are better organised, let immigrants in. But be selective. We don't need more structurally unemployed people, but we can use plumbers and masons. Let people prove they can be a worthy addition to our economy before letting them in.
