At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
I'm sure others will come around and give better advice, but I thought I ought to post...
This kind of stuff used to happen to me when I was back in school all the time....My crowning moment was when this pretty girl came up to me in a party and asked me whether I wanted to dance. I was so surprised that I blurted out something about finishing my food.....
My friends didn't let it go for months after that.
Anyway, I'll suggest that you don't worry too much about what she thinks. Chances are you won't guess correctly. Talk with her normally and candidly, as best as you can. Confidence rarely goes amiss. And it's far less taxing than trying to figure out meanings.
The horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
Why dont you tell her your mistake. If you are sincere, Im sure she will forgive you. She might even find it cute.

You could as her out for coffee after class, or to go for a walk, or to study, or to screw
People did strike up relationships before phones
She seems like she has some interest so just ask. Dont sound needy, dont tremble, just ask

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
I would not know, I have not been in any sort of relationship before. Is this normal for someone age 14?

You broke the ice anyway.
Maybe she is taken but still a bit interested, maybe she is just friendly.
Talk to her some more and get to know her. Don’t spend the whole time talking about yourself, get to know her.
Then you might have a better idea of what is going on and she just might give you her number.
Education: that which reveals to the wise,
and conceals from the stupid,

The first thing to do, Riflewire, is to stop analyzing every second of every moment you have spent in the vicinity of this otherwise normal human being.
You might think you have alot to discuss here, but really this is about five minutes of material which you are just pulling to pieces looking for hidden clues where there aren't any. Stop the Tom Hanks act.
In your mind it might seem like an age, in reality it sounds like you know nothing about this person and you haven't even been together for more than an hour.
She is probably a hag, or someone entirely unsuitable (Statistics!)
With that in mind, you can approach with confidence and intent on friendship and exploration of character rather than an exploration of more unspeakable areas of humanity, and the latter is what will have you naturally shaking at the knees and garbling.
If you're only intent on the latter, you should seek more advice from Strike, and be aware that it will probably involve much alcohol.

SPQRules, you are restricted to Playboy, sport, cars and mates until such time as you come to your senses and realise what is good for you.
Failure to do this will result in you posting in the Frontroom 2-4 years from now saying, 'You all know I'm not the romantic type but...'
SPQRules: Its ok, the best way to fix your situation is to contract an illness.
Don't worry, the one I'm talking about is quite safe; its called 'Prussian Iron' syndrome.
Our friend Rhyfelwyr has it, all that happens is that you post here regarding every possible situation that could involve you even being near a girl, and we all give you advice.

OK I'll try to help. Remember this, it's the woman who initiates a relationship, not the man. It's a bit of a dent in the old male ego but it's true. I remember being desperate to get a girlfriend when I was a lowly teen. I finally got one when I stopped trying so hard.
Girls like a bloke with personality and charm.(Don't we all!) Don't try too hard, be yourself. Do not try any corny chat up lines. They really hate that. Funnys good, females like funny. Possibly more than they like looks. Why do you think I cultivated a humorous persona?![]()
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.
“Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy.”
To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise.
"The purpose of a university education for Left / Liberals is to attain all the politically correct attitudes towards minorties, and the financial means to live as far away from them as possible."
I'm going to give both the easiest and the hardest advice. Just talk to her and be yourself. No awkward silences, no blurting out words, just a normal conversation like you would have with a friend. If you're not used to it, you may have to force yourself but it does help and it will help you in the future.
Or just show her your collection metallica memorabilia, that could help to.

Get on with your life and you will be fighting them off with a stick. You might even discover something better!
That small talk you described is not just being friendly, it is very mild flirting. But like most things based on pure physical attraction, it doesn't have any real meaning. You might be a handsome fellow, she might be bored, you might be the only chance she has, she might act like that with everyone.
Be aware that throughout High School and generally in educational situations, a young girl does not spontaneously approach a young boy just because she is feeling friendly. There is always something behind that and they will never admit it, as you wouldn't either.
I think this is really causing you too much stress and distraction to be any good for you, if this is something which is taking you away from study.
You should know this by now but sometimes a flirtatious conversation is struck up just because the girl likes that curious little adrenaline rush that comes with the tension. This happens all the time, it gives the ego a boost, it gives a hope for the future and it is deliciously ambiguous. You get it too, don't you?
That may be all there is to it. And unless she makes it obvious that something further is on the cards, it isn't worth thinking about for another moment.
That's it, she could just be feeding off your fear. What a succubus. Time to focus on more important things.

Better over the the estimation than under it!
Glad you're handling it then!

I agree. I think it's more likely than not she's telling the truth about the phone situation. So next class just ask if she wants to get some coffee/tea or something - and if either of you are busy immediately after the class suggest a time later that day.
