Mithrandir was crowned as the Lord of Camels many years ago. Martok the Stablemaster and Caravel of Many Names served faithfully.

Over time, however, Caravel drifted away. I came to work under Martok in the stables.

Years passed, and Martok was elevated to the position of Moderator. To honour him, Mithrandir relinquished the title of Camel Lord to Martok, and took up his destiny, becoming the Emperor. As reward for my faithful service, I was elevated to the position of head of the stables.

In their absence, I rule.

I have not forgotten my roots, however. Are you volunteering to take up a shovel Prussian?

All others have no particular rank, but they worship the Camel.

The unbelievers were wiped out in a holy war years ago. They were lead by Andres the Cunning and Caius the Missed.

I had to laugh a little when I read this thread. I drifted away from the Org around the release of Rome: Total War. I check in every once in a while to see that most of the people I remember are gone, with the exception of many of the mods. My own recollections of the Org's "golden days" take place before most of the members in this thread even joined. Still, I'm glad the Org is still chugging along.

THE world's largest herd of wild camels is eating its way through central Australia and is thought to have Queensland in its sights.
More than a million camels are inflicting major damage on 3.3 million sq km of fragile desert ecosystems, including the Simpson Desert in Queensland's far southwest. They wreck scarce water supplies, eat rare plants, mulga and grazing pasture and knock down fences.

Northern Territory Natural Resources and Environment Department scientist Glenn Edwards said the herd was doubling in size every nine years and although numbers in Queensland were not known, it was thought they were expanding their range.

Camels in Australia are the only feral herds of their kind in the world, and are estimated to number more than 1,000,000, with the capability of doubling in number every nine years. The Australian camels are descendants of camels imported into Australia, beginning in the mid-19th century, to help lay the foundations of the nation.
