"If given the choice to be the shepherd or the sheep... be the wolf"
-Josh Homme
"That's the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!"

Portland; where the dream of the nineties is alive.
I talked with a guy from Portland the other day, and he said this show accurately portrayed the eastern, 'bohemian' side of Portland.

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
Awesome. I remember when, of all places, suddenly Seattle was the gobal centre of hip in the 90s. And Portland too, I guess.
Grunge, alternative lifestyles, activism. Anti-globalisation. Good times. Thank God the internet was made big by the American Westcoast, in the 1990s. Or at any rate came to maturity at a time when the US northwest coast dominated global youth culture. The anarchy, anti-authoritarianism, activist spirit of the internet is partly the fortuiteous result of a specific time and place during the web's infancy. If the web had been the product of America in the noughties, we wouldn't have gotten Napster, but a tool for record companies to spy on you.
A bit further south then, and a decade later. The girl in Rabbit's second video takes poledancing completely for granted. Unthinkable one decade earlier. Incidentally, I think the young girl does the better and more interesting impersonation, more so than the two slightly over-the-top bookshop owners. I had to think of her, she is like the more normal, non-LA version of the two 2011 LA girls in the video below.
And no, I did not stumble upon the video searching for 'ass'.
Friday night was music night, however 'cos I was bladdered I forgot.
So Saturday morning it is then.....
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.
“Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy.”
To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise.
"The purpose of a university education for Left / Liberals is to attain all the politically correct attitudes towards minorties, and the financial means to live as far away from them as possible."
