Leo went merc crazy this turn. 2x Merc Spear for the Kaiser (who is picking up the 1320 florin tab), 1 x Merc Spear and 1 x Merc Xbow for Premysild, 3 x Slav Mercs, 1 x Merc Xbow and 2 x Balkan Archers for himself and a town militia recruited in Wien for a grand total of 4,289 florins for his own account.

He's going to use those troops to a) fight off the Magyar who are sneaking into Austria from the south (and ignoring Jens Herden who is besieging their capital) and b) avenge Helmut Becker by retaking Innsbruck from the Milanese.

Osterreich is going deep into the red for the Reich.

Vaclav was joined by a unit of Town Militia from Nuremberg and then positioned himself to "threaten" the Polish army from the rear. They seemed rather nonplussed by the movement, but were apparently ready to welcome him into the jaws of death.

It hardly matters as we have no spies and no spy recruitment facilities! (What happened to our starting spy, did he die of old age?)

Franconia 1114 AD

Although Duke Vaclav of Bohemia had encamped himself immediately behind Przebor Zdeb of Poland, the geography of the Mainz river prevented him from getting close enough to the city. Thus, when the Pole began his assault, Duke Vaclav was not able to come to the defense of the city, and Frankfurt was taken! It seems Przebor Zdeb intends to stay, as he has occupied Frankfurt, left a token garrison, and turned around to attack the Duke of Bohemia!

A small Polish army that had invaded Brandenburg has been beaten back, and a small church is being built in Prague; the recruitment of Theodericus's army all the while continuing in Magdeburg. Two town militias are also raised in Prague to bolster its defences.

The Kaiser moves within striking distance of Frankfurt and the Polish army. 2,000 florins have been transferred over to the Prinz.
