Default Game language, a question to french S2TW players

    Hi everyone,

I have a simple question concerning the game, yet I couldn't find any answer on the official website; I'm french, and I wish to know whether or not the game will be in french or not if I buy/steam it.
If it is so, I'll promptly drop the idea of buying it. If it is in english though, I might give in to the continuing whispers I hear "buy me, buy me..."

Sometimes, the simplest question are the hardest to come by.

Found my answer: the game box is in english but the game itself is in french...
Something tells me I'll have to order it from overseas.

Seems like the cheapest price at the moment, and free delivery too.

Wait, do you need French or English? I thought all the versions contain every language and you'd be able to just choose which to display.

That's what I thought as well.

I'd want it in english; since I got a french HoI, I swore I'd never play in french again (horrible tech interface, terrible modding experience.)

Quadalpha, your post raise a upsetting point, why don't a remember being able to choose language?
Is it because I completely overlooked it, or because I am getting old?
Whatever, I'll buy the game box next week, in London.

    Thank you all.

Oh, don't be disturbed :) I think when it's registered in Steam you can right-click it and go to options, then there's a language tab. I just tried it and the language pack downloads automatically (about 180 megs).

Missed out on this thread, since it said only for french S2TW players, but I also want to confirm that you can choose any of the supported languages you like!

That's one of the changes that come with Steam that I really like. Before I had to struggle to obtain the proper Addons for Rome or Medieval Total War to mix with my english version that was imported. With Steam you can select any language you like just like quadalpha described. So nothing to keep you from playing it in english, which I currently do even though I have the German version of the box sitting on my desk.
