Earthlink and friends. I was already targeted twice on night 1, a murder attempt and a roleblock attempt. Now that Earthlink has made a case against me that is full of holes and misinformation, and it is clear to other townies that I am townie and he is likely not, then he and his team/faction will try to kill or silence me.

I have plenty of credits. What I don't have is the ability to both effectively defend and effectively block action. I will trade defensive acts for item votes, thats all I can offer. Someone should scan me and Earthlink while they are at it.

That's where you are wrong. The only "action" I claimed to have known about was my attempted murder. The rules state that failed attempts most likley will not get a thread write up. The rules say nothing about a player not being alerted as to his own near miss, especially if that near miss, for example, included the use of an item, or, perhaps, was due to a free "experimenation" action which resulted in learning said trait. If someone didn't try to kill a brother, then how would a brother have gotten the self defense special ability bonus? If someone didn't try to steal from a brother, then how would a brother have gotten the resist steal trait?

Look, Earthlink, just admit that you butt-xrayed Renata and almost got her lynched. It's not the end of the world, and your fellow Chaotics will probably defend you tonight. And I'm sure the guy who tried to Vig me will totally stand up and admit to it. totally. Oh wait, he can't, because of my uber-defensive butt xray not only silenced him, but also shorted his monitor and made his wife fall down teh stairz.

Page 13, post 366. Earthlink claims that he and at least one other person (and probably more) has been silenced, before anyone else claims to have been silenced. A mighty assumption on his part in a game where 20% of the players did not post on day 1 or 2. He claims that Renata was the other person well before Renata ever says so.

What really happened is that Earthlink used his butt x-ray on Renata and deicided to play the victim, too, knowing that if she got lynched she would be unable to talk about it afterwards and people would have missed his presence on the 2nd day. He did not post smileys or images like Renata did because he did not know it was okay, not until Renata did it, and he complained to the host that she was posting, and ATPG sent him a PM saying it was allowed. Well, Renata didn't die, and so Earthlink needed to blame someone for all of the silencings, so he picked a guy who had already stated that someone had attempted to touch his no-no the night before, and accused him of having the butt x-ray. That guy was me.

When the butt x-ray comes up for item vote, I will gladly vote this item to someone else, because it has already brought me enough grief. Much like the magical ring from that movie where the elves and yodas fight over the ring whilst eating potatoes, I fear such an item will only turn its holder into a terrible person who will use the butt x-ray for his or her own personal gain against everyone and anyone, except pregnant or nursing women of course.

To a certain extent. I don't want to run afoul of the paraphrasing rules, so I'll just summarize:
-- it was something that happened during the night
-- it was something that was done to me
-- I was told up front that I would not be able to speak or vote during the day; the rest I had to get clarified in separate PMs
-- the direct agency is not clear (that is, Earthling's hypothesis that it was due to something each of us did (rather than something multiple people did to us) is not wrong on its face, however unlikely I think it might be)

That's very possible, but it may also be that Earthling saw the two deleted posts and Renata's pictures/smilies - after that it won't be too difficult to put two and two together, since he would be affected by the same conditions and would have no doubt asked ATPG before/after seeing those posts. Your conclusion makes sense, but is perhaps too complicated, Occam's Razor applies here maybe?

Edit: After reading through the last pages, I think you theory can apply to Renata as well, who (from what I read) is very good mafia player and can pull off such a trick, whilst I'm assuming Earthling is quite new to this (though maybe he played at CFC?)

Also....I want to ask Subotan why he started the 20 credit wager on YLC, as it seems a tad too much just to pressure a lurker (and so I voted with him, assuming that he actually has a credible reason for doing so).

That's Earthling's first post after nightfall. He reads my image post correctly, and also mentions that he'd just gotten/read (seems to be an edit error there) a PM saying that images were allowed. ATPG only clarified that with me 24 hours or so *after* the day had begun; it makes sense that, had anyone else been the victim of the same power, they'd have also gotten an "oh by the way" heads-up from ATPG on that point at the same time. Earthling is clearly implying at least two different PMs, which makes a great deal of sense if he was a silencing victim and not a whole lot if he was the one doing the silencing.
