Default The most satisfying occurrence ever

When a grammar or spelling Nazi has incorrect grammar or spelling in their correction. I thought of the pleasure of this happening by
ACIN in the backroom who is of course a bright and intelligent young man who did not make this mistake I would have jumped upon and relished like a golden eagle with a fresh kill.

Does anyone else find immense joy when this sort of thing happens. Like a giant karmic **** you.

Spelling is overrated. But don't be mixing up them words entirely.

Hah, spelling is not overrated. Submit a resume to a potential employer with a bunch of spelling errors and your chances of getting interviewed or hired are nil. Paying attention to detail is worth the effort.

One time, I had to write an essay for Biology class when I was in High School. I was using an old typewriter, and I forgot one letter in my last name, but turned it in anyway. The teacher gave me an F without even reading it. I thought it was funny until the end of the semester!

Yes, I know this first hand. You would think it wouldn't be as important as say your credentials, but bad spelling always seems to come back and bite you where it hurts.

It's not just about the spelling. The paying attention to detail part is very important to employers, and when there are 10 people competing for every job they can afford to pick & choose.

A little off topic but something similar happened to me in first year uni. I submitted an assignment and not knowingly/being slack, my reference list wasn't formatted correctly. I got a straight out zero with the comment, "I always check the reference list first, saw that you did not follow the universities structure and formatting regarding references, so I didn't read your assignment as I cannot assume your references are of credible sources" (which btw, my sources were, infact one of them was from an academic journal the lecturer had written in!). At the time I was pretty upset, but I've never written down a reference incorrect since that moment! Pretty harsh though!

I like to troll. Not here, of course, but in some places (i.e. Star Trek Online forums) I like to troll with a passion.

One of my key antagonizers is to lob "insults" at people that question their intelligence, while misspelling said insults. For example, RETRAD. It's really good at taking the troll to a whole new level.

Yeah it is. HT gives some good advice which I'd advise anyone reading to take. It's horribly depressing to rejected from a job and having them let you know it was in part due to a misspelling on your resume.
