I don't hate Steam. Why would I be buying games on something I hate?

I wasn't asking you, it was just a general musing.

I have been waiting for Fallout 3: GOTY to go on a bigger sale, but I guess Steam just wants to **** me in the ***.

Perfect time to buy the New Vegas DLC though.

    I got a question.

Since Mount and Blade series are on sale; should I buy the whole pack? Or only Warband, cos I heard Warband is just better and you don't need the first one and I heard with fire and sword sucks.

    Probably going for mods anyway.

To be honest, I don't think there's a reason to get MB1 if you get Warband. I think there's a few mods that are only MB1 compatible but rather few these days.

I just picked up Fire & Sword. I'll see how it goes...

Apparently mods can only have a max of 9 factions in Warband, but unlimited in M&B. The mods with more than 9 factions couldn't convert.

Don't worry - that means you can play the old "The Last Days" mod, which is set in the Lord of the Rings world. You'll have to dig out an old version of the game from the web, but your serial key will work on it. It's old, but I still love that mod. I find every other version of Mount & Bland a pale shadow by comparison.

I've been wondering whether to get Warband, but it does not seem to make enough improvements to the SP game to motivate me to buy it. If the new TLD version requires it, though, it will be bought.

Just bought AI War for $2.99.
Looks interesting, like a SoaSE with better AI and more depth.

EDIT: Stupid Steam. Rejected my sale for some reason.

The entire STALKER series is on sale today. There are few bargains better than the one of CoP, which is (IMHO) the best of the series:

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - $4.99
    S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat - $3.74
    S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - $2.49

If you play FPS and don't have these games, this is a very, very good deal.

Ok, this is getting me mad. Whenever I try to buy a game on Steam, I get this error after I confirm the payment and check the "I accept whatever you are saying" thing:

An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
    Please contact Steam Support.
This sucks. I contacted support, no answer.
I cleared my cache and everything, no luck.

That used to happen to me a couple years ago whenever I tried to use an AMEX. For some reason it worked fine with a Visa. The problem went away altogether eventually.

Says something when the two sequels are cheaper than their first game. Those guys need to get it together for the next one.

Hooahguy, are you participating in the current Steam beta? The one time something similar happened to me, coming off the beta and restarting fixed the problem. That was a while ago though, but worth trying, assuming you're on the current beta.

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is only $5 on Steam today. It has all 4 of the factions for multiplayer but only a couple super small mini-campaigns for singleplayer.

The complete pack is $12.49 if you want the good campaigns too.

Its seriously one of the best games ever made so do yourself a favor.
