Kage and CR watched the henchmen debate for hours. After a while, CR stood up and everyone grew quiet. "So, what is your decision?" Three of the henchmen pointed at Vito. CR frowned. "Vito? Really? Why him?"

"He's acting weird!" said one henchman.

"I've been staring at him for hours and hours, and... he moves weird," said another henchman.

"Those guys told me to vote for him," the third henchman said, gesturing to the first two.

CR shrugged, "Welp, if that's what you think, I guess there's only one thing to do..." CR looked at Kage. Kage nodded and left the room. After a few moments her returned with a flamethrower. CR picked it up and strapped it to his back, then leveled the nozzle at
    Vito.

"Uh, the rest of you might want to stand back a bit," Kage said. Frank, Luciano, and Nick, quickly edged away from Vito, who was now sweating and glancing around the room nervously.

"Can't we talk about this some more?" pleaded Vito. "I swear, there's been some kind of misunderstanding here. Just give me a little more time..."

"Time?" CR put on some dark goggles. "Where you're going, you don't
    need time."

    "You deserve this," added Kage.

CR pulled the trigger and Vito covered his face and screamed an unearthly scream. It seemed to come from multiple orifices on his body. He shrieked and thrashed about... and then suddenly stopped. He looked down at himself and saw nothing but colored confetti. The floor around him was littered with the stuff, and some was still drifting through the air. A few pieces were still lodged in the nozzle of CR's flamethrower. Kage was wearing a party hat.

    "Uh..." said Vito.

CR walked up and mussed up his hair and gave him a slap on the back. "We couldn't kill you, Mr. Wachugi! We think you're great."

Kage nodded and slapped him on the back. "You made it far enough, you've proved your worth. We think with a little more training you could be the bestest henchman EVAR!"

"For reals," said CR. "You'd be super useful for 'filtering out' the losers from the good recruits for the next phase of our Global Conquest plan. In the meantime, you can enjoy the luxuries the rest of these schlepps have been building." The two evil overlords put their arms on Mr. Wachugi's shoulders and started walking towards their private harem.

"Sirs?" Frank had his hand raised.

Kage glared at him. "What is it, Mr. Frank?"

"Don't we get some kind of reward? We did catch him, after all." The other two surviving henchmen nodded in agreement.

CR scowled at them. "Shadduppa your face and get back to work! Your pathetic lives are all the reward you deserve; you didn't even finish construction! What kind of pathetic henchmen can't even build a proper Evil Antarctic Ultra-Lair?" Kage glared at them as well. "Finish your work, or we'll feed you to Mr. Wachugi."

And with that, the two evil overlords left to play with their new Super Henchman. As Mr. Wachugi left the room, his posterior morphed into a face and stuck its tongue out at the surviving henchmen.

I wasn't lying, no bug juice.

Well done to everyone, particularly Reenk, Monty, and Arjos. I think the Deaders and I universally agree that Reenk intentionally took the hard road in this game just because he wanted to challenge himself. It was a masterful performance, and we all enjoyed it greatly. You'll notice that pretty much all the dead townies were rooting for him, which is something of a rare occurrence in a mafia game. Monty and Arjos really did do some superb analysis in the final stages of the game though, and the two of them won this game for themselves and solidly deserve it.

Thanks to everyone for participating, I've learned a lot about how the replacement mechanism works and have a lot of ideas on how to improve on it in the future. I'd appreciate some post-game commentary on the system from anyone who has an opinion. What worked, what didn't work, what can be improved?

A few of my own observations to get things rolling:
    1) Activity tracking makes life incredibly hard for Things. I am considering making it mandatory to enable invisibility mode on all main AND anonymous accounts for the duration of the next game. There is no way for me to prevent dead players from posting on the forums, but we can at least level the playing field a little more by preventing activity tracking simply with online status.

    2) When I turn this into a large game, I think I will have two or three Things as well as pro-town roles. One thing I am unsure of though... should Things gain the powers of any pro-town role they take over?

    3) I think next time I will allow dead players to continue posting in the main thread if they were lynched. There's no way the replacement mechanism will work if night-kill players are allowed to post, but there will always be ambiguity about lynchees. This may give the game a bit more discussion.

Thank you so much for hosting TinCow, great mechanic and excellent execution of it with the accounts and timer.

Now, the only thing I don't understand, what is up with CR and Kage here? Anything I'm missing?

Also gratz Reenk, you played it extremely well, in all honesty I wouldn't have minded losing due to some superb acting, but losing it to confused votes: never! :D

The game's plot is a sequel to GH's Mafia X. GH wrote part of the initial background story and gave permission to do it. It seemed proper to use that setting because this was, essentially, a vanilla mafia game with only a single rule change (albeit a significant one). Plus, using that setting gave me an excuse to be absurd, which I find far more fun to write (and read) than ultra-serious horror movie stuff. I think it would have gotten dreadfully dull if I had tried to write this entire thing as an actual conversion of the movie itself.

Plus, Kage and CR deserve to be immortalized in the Gameroom for their Mafia series victories.
