Going off on a tangent but I agree with acin the frontroom could use some more interesting threads.

You sound like it's the moderators' fault that the Frontroom doesn't have any threads that interest you.
And that somehow makes it okay to break the rules?
I don't post in the Frontroom myself a lot, never have, just go to the forums with things that are interesting and post there.
I'm not sure about non-political philosophy in the Frontroom, I think it does belong there, in a way all this advice on women is light philosophy as well.
Did you mention this because of an incident where your topic was moved or are you just assuming it's not allowed?

I'm saying it is everyone's fault. People don't make interesting threads, and because of that, any thread sticks around, including the blatantly bad ones which end up having the moderators come in and temp ban people because they were talking "inappropriately" in the only interesting thread around. I have a feeling that if the moderators locked all of PI/Hooahguys/whoevers girl thread immediately and didn't let it take off, people would really start to feel the slowness and boringness of the place.
I mentioned it because Secura said that anything heavily philosophical isn't light enough for the frontroom. But heavily philosophical threads can be frontroom material if the subject is inoffensive. My example was me starting a thread about how people learn, what is the best way to learn, what is the best way to communicate knowledge etc...I don't post in the Frontroom myself a lot, never have, just go to the forums with things that are interesting and post there.

That's my thought exactly, unless the point is that the "interesting threads" cannot be created because of the current FR policy.
In that case, it would be helpful to explain or point out which kind of threads exactly would be interesting and which part of the policy prevents such threads to be created in the FR.
