Jihads can be used when the city is above a certain level of % conversion towards Islam. Jihads were also meant to be a defensive mechanic more or less. This will prove very valuable for the Muslim team once the Catholics try to get Jerusalem.
For the Crusades, the idea is to call them at the nearest city allowed but still use it to capture the target city and kill off any armies that might prevent that. I don't want to lose players to frustration so restarting is out. Also Thanatos was kind enough to pick off where Ash left us, but I suspect he would not have picked Leon-Castille in SS 6.4 I suggest we keep Crusades and Jihads and use them accordingly (BTW if a Crusade stack goes to attack something that makes it end it's turn furhter away from the Crusade target we suffer desertion) as mentioned. Also allow Jihads to be called on either kind of target city or close by, to facilitate their defencive nature.
If we completely ban them I fear that Leon will be simply too poor a choice in this mod to match the Moors unless we 3v1 or 4v1 the Moorish player.

So crusade/jihad armies can attack anything? Good to know that NOW. Since the Crusader States will always hold Jerusalem how will you ever attack it?
You haven't decided to do that already? If we completely ban them I fear that Leon will be simply too poor a choice in this mod to match the Moors unless we 3v1 or 4v1 the Moorish player.![]()
We can attack Jerusalem the good Ol' fashioned way - with regular armies. Same for the other side.
Crusade/Jihad armies can attack anything so long as it's within the immediate vicinity of the objective or is working towards it. No point in taking Rome if you see a full stack of Venetians right next to it right? Kill the immediate armies and take and hold your objective (emphasis on the latter).
Let's all try to have fun and I'll try to make this fair for both teams. When the game ends we will have enough info for a second installment that will be more balanced (I'm thinking, KGCM w/hotseat patch and autoresolve)

Three crusade armies from Leon/Castille!!
Don't you think that's a bit of overkill, Thantatos?
OMG All those mighty generals- King Alfanso, Gongalo Quijada, Sancho de Cortegaca, and "Prince" Sancho on the march
Please I beg you send your diplomat to me and we can end this war
And of course no other Catholic human faction can join the crusade. Just be willing to make peace
All the Catholic human factions must agreeSpoiler Alert, click show to read:to not join the Crusade.

So have the Moors actually some leverage over Leon-Castille in order to ask for peace and other such things?

If Leon wants peace, that's a condition.
You did read the spoilers, right?
You didn't show me yours so I can't show you mine. Well, ok, I'll show the only one I took.https://img231.imageshack.us/img231/...nsothedead.jpg This one is titled "Alfonso the DEAD"
ouch, looks like spains not going to be able to hold the Moorish tide back much longer

The terms for peace are simple. I'm willing to throw in trade rights and a 20 turn NAP. If you don't have a diplomat to send to me just agree to it here and I won't attack you anywhere next turn. No human Crusade armies, Toledo, trade rights, and peace-what more could you ask for? And giving me Toledo will cancel the Jihad already in progress. Oh, did i forget to mention THAT?
Thanks to Myth's ruling my alliesare coming in force with the intention of burning
everything in their way.
HAVE A NICE DAY

On behalf of Spain and the Catholic Kingdoms I humbly accept your terms
However my only diplomat is quite far away and I have no means to make another, so you will have to send your own.
