This is vanilla mafia; there is no sense in taking any chances.

    Vote: Montmorency

Well, if you think about it, why would the Serial Killer write the message in the first place? And after the message you are trying to use it to trap? And you do it in a way that makes it seem as though you're either mafia of town... I think you wrote it yourself so you could approach people with it and when people came forward in thread (because of course they would) you could run the gambit off as a townie trying to trap scum.

Is that too convoluted? Am I thinking too hard?

I really wanted to OMGUS OTLD, but this whole Montmorency thing feels too scummy to me.

Couldn't you have chipped in last day phase with that sort of reasoning edse? Having played with him before, I don't think Montmorency is scum (So of course he will be, now that I've said that). His actions and posting style seem pretty typical of him. Personally I think Lewwyn is looking the most scummy, but that's just based off intuition and I haven't played much with him before, so take that with a grain of salt.

We were actually missing one mafia this night, Mikhail.

Wait until the end of the game and/or the next night kill featuring both mafia. That's all I'm saying.

Well, I'm not too sure about this line of reasoning.

Night 1: Both Mikhail and Dmitri kill.
Night 2: Mikhail kills. I thought Dmitri might have died.
    Night 3: Dmitri kills.

So maybe, maybe not. They could certainly just have Dmitri kill all the time, just to discredit Ishmael. Smarter would be to continue this pattern of alternating killers; if one of them is eventually killed, it gives Mafia an extra day to sow confusion before a lynch is discredited as Mafia.

    mm, something is wrong here.

Mikhail and Dimitri is the mafia, Richie the serial killer:

    Night 1
    Dimitri and Mikhail killed Sasaki
    Richie killed DiY

    Night 2
    mr X Attacked ATPG
    Mikhail killed ATPG
    Richie killed Bow-wow-wow

    Night 3
    mr X killed autolycus
    Dimitri killed hero di classico

mr X is asking for Gorbachev and can be Richie in case he was allowed to do the failed attack on ATPG

I find it unlikely that mr X is Richie. That means we should have one more killer at the island, not mentioned in the rules.

Night 2 I thought Dimitri was mr X

The case against him is ridiculous? meh.. I am not so sure about that. . I find it very uncomfortable knowing that people are sending out pms saying that they will work with the serial killer. That alone should justify a lynch.
Montmorency would have gotten my vote right away if it wasn't because of lewwyn

bolded the section I was most interested in.
..and draw a lot of attention to himself? That Montmorency should have written it himself, so that he could place himself as a very decent lynch, seems a bit awkward. Or to be more clear, it seems like you are grasping at straws to come up with a reason for voting montmorency.

Yikes who to vote for.. no.. Vote: Lewwyn... (I guess we can't double lynch in a vanilla?)

I know. Then mr X was Dimitri night 2 and Richie doing a copycat kill night 3. If so, Mikhail is missing.

Just one thing - how could I be harmful to town by "working" (whatever that actually means) with the SK?

But Andres said right there that Mafia can only kill once.

Either Mafia or the SK included that as flavor.

Why it must have been the SK: the Mafia attacked Pizza anyway; the attacker was looking for Gorbachev, a theme adopted in the SK killing N3; the attacker's voice sounded like "rotting bones falling onto the ground" - sounds SKish

But why would the SK first attack ATPG and then kill DiY. It could be a trick by the mafia if it was Dimitri that performed the failed attack. This would fit within normal rules, just a tricky write-up

So you're saying that writeup was simply part of the Mafia attack. But again, why Gorbachev? Why would Dmitri call Pizza Gorbachev? Why wasn't he named as Pizza's attacker in the writeup? Why would the SK suddenly start hunting for Gorbachev himself? Something doesn't add up.

That's what I'm saying. Either the serial killer or the mafia did a weird trick on night 2. There is no doubt about mr X being the serial killer night 3 though.

What are you talking about? DiY was killed in night 1... In night 2 mr x made an attempt on Pizza (I thought it was a townie revenge from Capo) and then Mikhail killed Pizza while Richie killed Bow-wow-wow... We saw both Russians on night 1 when game started and not after we started lynching people, it could be just game mechanics.

I keep thinking the failed attempt on Pizza was intended as a townie joke and coincidentally he was targeted by the killers... Now, night 3 the killers are using mr x interference to mess with the people's mind, and its working... Someone in the shadows must be laughing his ass off...

    Vote: abstain for now...
    returning to the shadows.....

The SK was wanting to work with the Mafia, not with the town. The idea being, he wanted the Mafia to start looking for him as his biggest risk is actually the Mafia and not the fact he may get lynched.

Strangely, it seems Vote: Montmorency falls for this basic trap, trying to discover the SK, as by the same argument, the biggest threat to the Mafia is getting nightkilled. Montmorency was only outed by Visorslash in attempting to do this.

So Montmorency the Mafia was tricked into revealing.
