It's not a game at all, again not saying I believe the pm is genuine, but "Montmorency wishes to see the game end without further bloodshed"? WTF? Who died and made you God of mafia end games?

What do I lose, John? Nothing, that's what. The only thing you're managing to do is take away victory (or at least survival) from others.

edse: Buffy! Are you nuts? People are starving in the streets. Sunnydale is not a self-sufficient economy. Did you even pay for that beer? I guess I shouldn't be complaining. I've had more work here than anywhere since the Russian Revolution!

Buffy: Shut up!

She throws a knife into edse's throat. Edse gives a gurgle and dies.

Angel is sitting in his office, twiddling his thumbs.

Angel: I've brought peace to this city, again. Humans and demons, all living in harmony, and somehow, it all feels ... empty.

Suddenly a demon bursts in.

Angel: You look angry. Do you want to fight? Please tell me you want to fight.

Begin Opening Music

Elsewhere ... Daveshack gets out of a car.

Daveshack: Man, this is just what I needed. A little fun in a big city. Sure, it's no San Francisco, but hopefully I can move on. Willow's been dead for a season and a half now. Besides, Buffy's made Sunnydale just a little too ... fascist for my taste.

A large figure steps out of the shadows.

Large figure: Interesting, a witch. I haven't killed one of those before.

Daveshack whirls, chanting a spell, but the figure simply steps through her wards and grabs her throat, closing until the bones snap. Then he drops the body and turns and walks away.


Back at Angel's office. He and the demon are both lying on the floor, out of breath.

Angel: Well, that was fun. Now what was it you wanted to talk to me about?

But then you attacked and killed Daveshack. Why? I forgot to send in orders in time for anyone else to be protected. That's why you weren't blocked.

So why attack Daveshack? You could have killed Wesley. You could have killed Giles.

You could have killed me.

But you passed up the opportunity. You killed Daveshack instead.

Your defeat of Buffy's vig was another surprise.

Soon enough, though, surprises get tedious.

So goodbye, Bsmith. It was a pleasure working with you, while it lasted.
