Gameroom Mafia Player’s Code of Ethics

I will endeavor to adhere to the basic rules for good posting/participation expected of all members of the .org community.

I will not use screenshots relating to a mafia game during that mafia game. This includes my posts within the thread, my private messages, my individual e-mails or any other means of communication.

I will not quote from a private message or from a chat log in the main thread of a mafia game and will not do so in private messages, e-mails, or other communications with anyone who was not originally a party to that message or chat unless permitted to do so by the game host.

I will endeavor to abide by the rules and conditions laid out by a host for her or his own game at all times.

If I believe that I have accidentally contravened this code, broken one of the rules laid out by the host, or believe myself to be on the receiving end of another who has done so, I will report my behavior to the host, attaching any relevant support information, and await the decision of that game host before continuing play.



Rules:

1) No copying, quoting, posting, or otherwise revealing the contents of your role PM. You may claim publicly any ability that you might have, or not have, but bringing the meta-aspect of the game into the thread by quoting the host or transcribing the contents of your messages with the host is not allowed. You may say that someone is guilty or innocent, or whatever.... you can also make up whatever results you wish. However you may not quote me, or any of the messages I might send you. Those messages are for your eyes only. You may not get around this rule by saying "there are three lines in my role PM" or ask about the contents of another person's role PM, or discuss at what time of day you got a message from the host. In simple terms, any communication with the game host is not to be discussed publicly, at all, ever. I do not exist, as far as the characters in this game are concerned. Out of thread chat is also not to be referenced or quoted. Any off-thread chat cannot be repeated in-thread or sent to others via private message. In general, you may converse privately, and you may converse publicly, but the metagame aspects of quoting private chats or messages of any kind will not be permitted here. This will allow you to coordinate your efforts in secret, if you wish, but it will not permit you to copy my private communications or that of others, at any time, during the game.

2) The usual ban on screenshots is still in effect.

3) The dead may not post unless otherwise specified by the game host. This is unusual for an .org game. Please keep it in mind.

4) You may discuss strategy and accuse people during the day phases, which will last for 48 hours or until the vote to lynch a particular victim reaches at least half of the living players, in which case the lynch is set in stone and will happen immediately after the game host is available to advance the round.

5) There are no ties. The first to reach the hammer mark is lynched, period.

6) Night phases will last for 24 hours after the game host advances the round and posts the result of the day phase.

7) "No Lynch" will not be counted as a legal vote. Someone will be lynched every day, or I will intentionally pick an innocent townsperson and kill them myself.





Preview: A small religious community is troubled. The townsfolk speak of darklings: demonic beings in human guise... here to bring unspeakable evil unto the world. They must bring those to justice who would do them harm.

I don't see the problem, there isn't another large game in sign ups, and I don't see the a GAH thread for either of January's games. Rules are there for a reason, sure, but should we slavishly stick by them just because they are there? Surely we should be flexible in a situation like this where there is room for a larger game, and the players for a larger game. Of course if it's difficult to increase the size of the game without causing yourself rebalancing problems, that's a different story.

Whoever is first on the replacement queue can have my spot and I'll be a replacement, I have a lot on my plate with Westeros, and would rather somebody who could contribute fully to the game have the opportunity to play.

I always thought that small games should be up to 20 players.
So I think you could rebalance your game for 20 players, ATPG.

OTOH, I just do not want to play another large game right now :). So, I would prefer if this one was no bigger than 20.
