I noticed that there is no "2012" category in the Download section. Perhaps it should be created?

I'm going to be out of town fri-sun, and even with my laptop, I probably won't have much time to play. So if loosecannon1 isn't going to play his CoG or Third Age turns, could we get one of his teammates to sub him, since I'm right after him in both games?

I can sub him in third age if needed as long as someone clears the password for me.

Is he intending on not playing the turns though?

I don't know, but both turns are overdue, so I thought I'd give a heads up not to wait too long :)

Hey there Vasilefs and welcome! I mentioned you the other day to NB as one of the skilled players from the WWC game. You played very well there, I kept tabs on that game, and I'm very happy to welcome you to the .org!

Don't mind the heated discussion over at the TWC HS topic, you'll find no prejudice here

Actually we have a couple of games that need players.

Clash of Gods! needs a Kwarezmian player. It's a Catholics vs. Muslims lead battles hotseat, 4 players per team and the Crusader States are on the Muslim side. Victory is achieved by holding and converting target cities to your faith, and Jerusalem is required to win by both teams.

The K-Shah in that game has been a bit underdeveloped (or so I'm told by Silver Shield) because It switched players several times and some have been relatively new to hotseats. But with Jihads allowed, and their strong corner-map posiiton, and the final battle for Jerusalem that decides who wins still far into the future you can make a notable difference!

March of Time - yet another SS 6.4 lead battles game, this time a free for all using the Long Campaing VCs for each faction. The Kwarezmian shah is available there and their position is very, very strong. Right now I'd say the most likely winner is either the Fatamid Caliphate (played by phonicsmonkey) or the K-Shah, simply judging on their positions on the map and starting armies.

We will most likely soon be starting another Kingdoms: Britannia forced AR game, since our current These Sceptred Isles seems to have reached a point close to a resolution. You can reserve a spot if you wish.

If you want to, do give a SS 6.4 RPG game a try, it's a very different experience from hotseats. Lords of the Danube, ran by Nightbringer, has it's own subforum for the sake of convenience.

If you're feeling a bit more leisurely and singleplayer-y you can give our RTW: Europa Barbarorum 1.2 Romanii sucession game a try. It's basically a bunch of players playing the Romans in EB and we throw in the occasional in-character story and screenshots. Which I have to get to, but I've been lacking time as of late.

Hey everyone, I had a problem with my computer that required reformatting. I'll be unable to play turns for a few days while I get everything back on my computer (and hunt down my MTW2 discs). I'll try to get subs.

Always sucks for that to happen Zim, let me know if I can sub you in a game. On the bright side, @phonicsmonkey now has a second crack at the TO in WiC

BTW @Vasilefs if none of the current games are to your liking, you can start recruitment for a new hotseat. I'm sure several people would join.

Thanks everyone. Quick question. Any problems with running mods over a steam version of the game? I'm having trouble locating my discs and I noticed MTW2 and Kingdoms are only $9.99 on Steam.

Thanks. I may need to take you up on that in EotTA, although I'm checking with Mithridate right now (He has the next turn after me anyway).

Hey! someone help Zim out with his question about Steam!

And on a different topic: time for some new hotseat games?

    Suggestions:
    - a new britannia game
    - a new crusades game
    - a 'diplomacy' game in the battleaxe mod (see the New Game Ideas thread)
    - Glorious Achievements 2 (with a new set of rules)

    What would be most interesting?

I would probably go for Glorious Achievements 2. The battleaxe mod game sounds fun, but I am too lazy to start installing even more mods.
As for Britannia and Crusades, I would be up for them, but can't shake the feeling of imbalance and predictability in them. If we do them, I would want to go for a fixed alliance thing or something new like that to minimize these factors.

As for steam, I don't know, but I think there is (or at least one) a thread about it in the SS forum.

I think any established mod has been made to work on steam. I know there are separate Steam install instructions for Stainless Steel. I would still use the original games however.

I'm up for all of the suggested games but I think LS must end first before we start another Crusades game (though I don't think they are predictable. Especially if it's a LB game and the forts cost 2500 gold)

FYI I'm away from morrow until Sunday. Subs:

CoG! - anyone of my allies
WoTK2 - anyone but Zim and Monkey
FN - I prefer this be delayed for me to play it as it's a delicate LB game.
EotA - any one of my allies.
MoT - I prefer this is delayed, but If I must be subbed have slysnake do it.
RRR - just skip over my turn and have the next player in line play. I'll catch up on the turn after.

Sorry everyone, after a long weekend and waiting forever for my gamersgate version of MTW2 to download, there was some kind of error and I have to start over. I'll start seeking subs while I get it redownloaded.

Same error on the second download. Something about not being able to detect the default language for installation...

Edit: Tried a third time. Here's the message that I get just as the download ends: "Cannot determine the installed game language for Medieval II Total War: Gold"

    Thanks @Rougeman . I'll give that a try asap.

A note to everyone, I will be a bit scarce for a day or two and then out of town through next Monday night.

    Subs:

    EotTA: Myth or Mithridate
    WotK: Phonics
    WiC: Phonics
    MoT: Nightbringer or Nigel

If a turn can't be subbed go ahead and skip it, although for WiC and WotK especially I'd like the turn subbed if at all possible.

Well, I do fully expect to lose in both no matter what, and have had both subbed a couple turns now. He could probably just skip them and I wouldn't notice.

Wow... Check out the second thread of the new features of SS 7.0 - Godlike difficulty anyone? I'm officially stopping any SP play until it comes out. Not that I'm playing SP now but..

Oh, and apparently TATW 3.1 has been released, complete with the unique settlements!
