I still think that the mafia are not infected (but who knows with this game set up), but mostly because I think that Double A could be our lover/SK. We have our 1st kill when Double A is active, then no kills, and surprise Double A is not active in thread, now he is back active again and we have another kill last night. Not such a coincidence me thinks.

Sorry, can't explain that. It was just a coincidence. Still, it seems like Dave was inactive for that time, and seemed scummy yesterday though, and I agree on the uninfected part, so vote: Dave.

I must say, this is the most difficult game to figure out that I can remember.

We have a couple of possibilities here, and they mean radically different things. We've been thinking the infections were the equivalent of night kills, and therefore only the uninfected are suspects. But we're down to just two uninfected, and both of us are acting town. I know I'm town, but of course y'all can be forgiven for not believing that. Under the "infected can't be darklings" theory that leaves me just one suspect.

But there are 5 infected left and the game is not over. If being infected counted as a "kill" then the game should be over. And if the darkling(s) could win by infecting the remaining uninfected, the game should be over. So maybe the infection has nothing to do with the darkling(s). Under this alternate theory, doing the obvious might be what loses the game.

I'm going to have to go with vote: Double A and just hope it's right.

Daveshack felt calm and at peace for the first time in a long while. Ever since the death of his beloved White_Eyes, he had been consumed by hate and rage. He didn't care about the village anymore... he was only obsessed with vengeance. And yet, deep down, he knew that if it weren't for the Darklings, she would still be alive today. The foolish village wouldn't have gathered together and killed her. The village was responsible, but the Darklings were even more responsible.

He wasn't an evil man, but these were insane times. He had simply been pushed too far. Now, as an angry mob approached to put him to death, he suddenly felt at peace. He knew he was joining his beloved, and that his pain would come to an end.

The pain.... the terrible, horrible pain...

The pain was horrible... it made DaveShack want to die. Unlike the others, his pain was on the inside... his pain was the pain of a broken heart.

But the suffering was the same. The suffering was still real. Too real.

Nothing else seemed real.

DaveShack would do anything to make the pain go away.

The Darklings seemed to relish the terrible torment... they were more cruel than any villain. They didn't even seem to want to kill their victims... at least not right away.

They wanted the village to suffer horribly.... to feel agonizing pain. To feel hatred and anger... to go mad with rage, or jealously.

We were mere puppets to them.

Playthings.

And they loved to watch us all suffer.

DaveShack was ready to die. So when death came, he welcomed it with open arms.

They butchered him with his own bloody axe.

He died thinking of her.

Well this certainly looks bad for me, but for the record, I think it's not Landlubber or Diana, BS seems fairly scummy, and I dunno about Atheotes or Visor.

Also I did this in one of my games one time: There was a whole night period between the lynch the town killed the last mafia and them actually winning (mainly just to screw with them). Also of note: This game has been feeling like the Salem witch trials since it started. Maybe there's a real connection there.

Atheotes woke up suddenly, gasping for breath. He felt panicky and disoriented. Something was very wrong.

He sat up in his bed and looked around, as if expecting someone to be there. He felt like he was not alone in his room. He was overwhelmed by the feeling that there was someone else in there with him. He couldn't see anyone, and so he hurried down the hallway as fast as he could run. He tried to open the front door, but the handle was stuck. He could sense there was someone right behind him, and he turned around hurriedly to defend himself...



But there was no one there.

"Hello? Whoever is there, say something to me!" he shouted. There was no immediate response.

He felt cold, and he felt his throat closing up as if he were choking. He tried to cough but nothing came out. He staggered forward and fell to his knees next to the hallway mirror, gagging and trying to catch his breath.

He looked at the mirror and noticed that in his reflection, his painful sores were gone, and his skin looked perfectly fine, as if his flesh melting off of his bones were merely an illusion. He looked down at his own hands and saw differently... that his constant, agonizing wounds were very real. He looked back at the mirror, and for a split-second, he felt as if he looked into the mirror a tiny bit faster than his reflection looked back at him. The feeling sent the hairs on the back of his neck standing straight up.

"There's nobody here but me..." said atheotes.

He looked into the mirror, and noticed that the reflection seemed normal again.

"There's nobody here but me..." said atheotes, with a strange grin on his face.

Atheotes stood up and walked over to the kitchen, and began rummaging through drawers until he found a long bread knife with a serrated edge. He picked it up and examined it. Nodding with approval, he walked back over to the mirror.

He looked at his disease-riddled hands, and held the knife to his skin.

"This meat is no good anymore. It has to be thrown away." said atheotes. He began cutting off the rotting parts. After he was done, he looked into the mirror and started screaming in pain. Then, he was quiet again.

"More."

He held the knife to his cheekbones, and began slicing off the rotting skin. He continued until most of his face had been removed, except for his eyes, nose, and lips.

He looked into the mirror and continued screaming in pain and horror.

"NO MORE!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!" he shouted.

"No more pain..."

He held the knife to his own throat.

"No more pain."

He began cutting out his trachea, until the bloody gurgling stifled his screams. He grabbed what remained of his throat and pulled it out with his hand, then he looked up at the mirror again and smiled. Then his expression changed back to one of horror.

He fell to the floor, coughing and gagging, and hurriedly cut open his jugular vein. In a few moments, he stopped moving.

What do you mean Visor, what post seemed fake? I thought that Double A was the SK, as my post last phase stated when I voted to lynch him. I'm glad we got the SK, wish it were mafia though, but since we haven't had any mafia kills up to now (I assume that this was a mafia kill-since it looked like Atheotes was not "seeing" himself right in the mirror, and the SK is now dead) that we may not have had any more kills, since we have had only kills by the SK, but hey I guess I was wrong. Went by past write ups, but this game is very hard to figure out.
Landlubber you are picking me because I was infected by you and not directly by the mafia, well so was BSmith by Visor, and Double A hasn't been infected at all. So to me, I think Double A is more scummy than me for that, and since he didn't turn out to be the SK I think he must be mafia. Vote: Double A

Now, seeing as I have practically useless throughout this entire game, I must say that I think AA and Diana are scumbags. For some reason they have both posted: I am so confused, wah! posts, which are pointless.

Diana's been offkey to me and so has AA, both I have visited and nothing has happened. Bsmith and LL I am not entirely sure about. But I am wondering about whether we should lynch AA or Diana, this may possibly be Lynch or lose here.

Double A was out in the middle of the woods, doing what he did best. He was staying out of trouble... he had even managed to emerge from the Darkling attacks unscathed. He never succumbed to the painful disease the others had.

Some thought it was suspicious that he was the only one who remained healthy, while everyone else got sick or got killed off. Why didn't the Darklings attack him?

That reasoning led the remainder of the village to hunt him down.

He was out laying careful traps, hunting... always hunting. He was so hungry for clean, cooked flesh.

He was out in the middle of the woods, armed to the teeth, laying traps. Was he also performing dark rituals? Who knows...

They came for him.

The local magistrate, Askthepizzaguy, shot him repeatedly with the blunderbuss, until nothing remained of the poor lad's head.

Was this the end? Had they caught their final Darkling?

Only the morning would tell. So they waited to see if the curse had been lifted.
