It was well more then just trebuches found hiding in the woods, including one of your own family, besides if they weren't planning to attack, there would have been no need for them to hide in range of a french castle.

Amusing as this is to observe, I'm not sure it helps me much beyond potentially stopping some western armies from travelling the long distances to the east to fight me as quickly as they would otherwise.

I killed Turks, Rus and Khwarezm this turn, took some cities, moved my hordes steadily west, assassinated a Seljuk lordling....but my favourite thing of all was fighting the battle where Genghis Khan killed Saladin.
