However, I have discovered a problem in the game @Myth
I am unable to build ports. My settlements all along the north african coast have no port, and building one is not an option in the construction browser. This is severely limiting my ability to build up a navy of any significance. The only settlement where i have any sort of naval building as an option is venice where i can build a merchants warf or whatever it is called.

EDIT: Was ill earlier in the week and fell asleep at the computer - computer did an auto-shutdown so I didn't remember I was meant to upload a save when I woke up lol..

I had a similar problem in a KGCM hotseat where as Byzantium I couldn't build anything above a certain level. Only noticed the problem when my shipwright never completed construction. It froze halfway. The only thing that solved it was after playing another hotseat as Byzantium and when it went past the turn when it started the building browser corrected itself. I was in other hotseats at the time with other factions and we tried turning the faction AI for a turn but nothing else helped. You might want to try a singleplayer game playing past the turn you first noticed the problem to see if that works.
