Looks intriguing. Though I cant tell if its more of a Fallout-type game or some sort of horror game.

From article: [A] party-based RPG using the Men Of War engine, with all the trappings of STALKER. Like so: 'Nuclear Union features a third-person view camera. The player is unable to control the party members, but it is possible to do something about their behavior and to assign commands to them during the combat.' [...]

[T]here’s going to be a big old freely-roamable world: 'The explorable world is constantly growing. The protagonist can move freely around any already-visited locations. The more the plot unfolds the more locations he will be able to visit. If we talk about the freedom in the game, it’s pretty large. There is a global goal, but it’s totally up to the player what steps they will take to achieve it. The freedom of the player’s actions will only be limited by their imagination.'

Paradox Interactive has opened up applications for their closed beta test of A Game Of Dwarves.
If you do sign up, please treat it as a BETA TEST rather than a free game to play. This means look for bugs and report them.

The Kickstarter is going very, very well. They've already hit their first stretch goal, and they're definitely going to hit their second. I'm particularly excited for the second, which will add significant content to the game. (How can you create a zombie survival game without a mall in it?). The next two stretch goals beyond that don't excite me very much, and the other goal that does excite me is at 300k, which I think is impossible to achieve in the time remaining. So, I'm very content with the final result. This is actually the first Kickstarter campaign I have ever contributed to. I'm still a bit skeptical about the whole process, but for this one I decided to give it a go.

As an experienced beta tester for dozens of games i really wish more people had that mindset. It's a bit disheartening sometimes to see people expecting "beta" to mean "exclusive f2p"

In any event I applied, thanks for the heads up.

The system is easy as to abuse and scam money from, which people have been doing for a while now. There was a massive thread on another board i frequent that was dedicated solely to point out bogus kickstarter campaigns from scam artists. The system requires a lot of trust and maturity from all people involved, which on the internet is like asking for a hyperbole that makes sense because I can't think of one.

Yeah, it's not something I will be doing frequently. There are plenty of projects I've seen that I want to see the light of day, but that's not the same thing as being willing to put my own money behind it. Dead State was different for me because I have already been following its development for two years. It wasn't just a hypothetical project, it was one that was already being done and in a way that I fully support. The money isn't to get the game finished, as it will get finished regardless, but it's to allow the developers to work on it full-time instead of part-time. Their various 'stretch' goals are actually based entirely on this. Each stretch goal brings one additional staff member on full-time, and the expected results are just the nature of being able to devote more work hours towards it.

The next game from the Mount & Blade people will be a pirate sim, which runs on the latest M&B engine.

    Excellent. I have high hopes.
By the sound of it, it involves a little more management which will be nice upgrade because even Warband was a little dry in that aspect, and ship battles sound promising.

I think it's not by TaleWorlds, but the people who did With Fire and Sword.

Ah, I stand corrected. I had no idea that TaleWorlds didn't do the second expansion. Makes me wonder what they're up to then.

EU Court rules in favour of reselling games

Would love to listen to how the big publishers react to this.

I'd love to see how Steam reacts to this. My only ding against the service is the inability to resell licenses which I have purchased.

It’s been rumored for months that Steam is going to start offering some form of used digital game trade-ins eventually. It already offers the Steam Trading service, but so far that doesn’t allow the sale of used games.

It will be interesting to see whether the European Union’s decision is reflected in the US.

Been wondering about that as well. The lazy option would be to shut down services in Europe. If they don't do that and get sued however, they may have to comply. Or they'll comply with one of the next updates. While they're at it, they might as well implement some age verification to give german adults access to uncensored games instead of completely removing those from our store (they can let the customers pay for the verification like some other adult content providers do as well).

Well I am a coward. For 5 years or so I made repeated attempts to play Forbidden Siren on my Playstation. It just gets to me. There is also something really sinister about the idea. Going to try it tonight

Then you will love SCP Containment Breach. I love the blinking mechanics, which is especially effective at inducing horror when you go up against SCP-173, or when you're being chased by SCP-106 and you run right into SCP-173.

Oh, and if you see a coffin in a security cam footage, look away. Trust me on this.

Squeenix keeps milking a dead horse.

I have a problem with this for two reasons:
    1. There's already an official PC version. Even if there wasn't one, the game isn't good enough to justify an HD remake.
    2. The Character Booster sounds shady. A Pay2Win business model in a single-player game that's over a decade and a half old? Fail.
