As to the size of the city, the rendering doesn't (and probably can't) display the numbers of the impermanent structures that would have accumulated around such a city, unless of course the surrounding geography prevents such buildings.

Oh i didnt read it properly. I thought it was the Tigranocerta that was the capital of his empire.

In Armenian Tigranacert/Tigranakert is a compound word meaning build/created (Certel/Kertel- to create or build) by Tigran. So there were many Tigranakerts during his reign. There was his Capital, and many other cities build by him throughout Armenia. This particular one is in Artsakh in the east of Armenia a very mountainous area.
