Thread: Org Minecraft Server

It happens when I attach leaf blocks to the leaves of an existing tree. Very specifically, it happens when I try to extend the leaf blocks around the large tree trunk at (336,64,162). Every now and then, the leaves disappear while I'm standing on them.

If there's some aspect of TreeAssist impacting that, it's not a setting. It may just be normal minecraft behavior. For naturally grown trees, leaves decay if they are not within 4 blocks of a wood block. What may be happening is that the 'custom placed' tag on the block is being overriden somehow due to the fact that it's been placed on a natural tree. Try adding wood blocks into the mix, as you see on larger oak trees, to see if that helps.

Tree Assist increases the decay rate of leaves, so they don't hover around for centuries. But other than that, it is normal minecraft behaviour.

Agreed. Maybe the issue is attaching them to existing leaves. Attach no more than 4 blocks directly from the wood and it should work.

I've been lagging a lot lately. I lost all my stuff in the Nether from the lag. Sazak had to get my stuff and put it in my chest at home, which I can't access.

It could be on my end.

The server has been been up for many days now, I'll reboot it next time no one is on. Maybe that will help.

I doubt it, but maybe that will fix my light sensor. Placed the new one underground and it doesn't work any more. Had to excavate around the edges and I see grass regrowing.

My light sensor broke with the 1.3 update. It got stuck and the output stopped toggling. I went into the thing and 'rebooted' it by pulling up some of the wiring which was stuck in the on mode, and then replaced it. The sensor started working properly again after that.

In my underground lair. You can take the railway, but the fastest way to get there is through the nether. Unfortunately, the route is not signed. It is, however, very well paved. From the main nether portal cluster area, go down the stairs near the pyramid portal, then down the spiral staircase and follow that road. At one point the road will split in two, and a very wide section will go off to your left. Follow that road a long distance. After a while you'll pass a nether fortress, which means you're getting close. The road dead ends in an area with three portals. Mine is the one at the very end on the right, inside a small building made of nether brick with nether fence windows and glowstone lighting inside. You'll emerge into the entryway of the lair. To open the main door, when facing the inaccessible wall at the back of the lava room press the back left button to open the door and raise the bridge. Don't press the other three, or you'll get a lot of arrows in your face. The sand generator is in the industrial sector, which will be on your right inside the main hall.

Edit: Nevermind. I played with the torch that was controlling the pistons controlling the water. There are some strange glitches where a random sticky piston on one side gets pushed out of place. It's almost as if the block it's meant to pull back pulls the piston out of place instead. It happened at least three times.

Everything seems to work for now.

I never knew two spawners could exist right next to each other. Sazak and I were exploring his new mountain land, when we decided to explore the caves. We got separated, and I was fighting through a horde of spiders from 2 spawners. I walled myself in, and tunneled my way to the surface. Boy, that was scary.

With spanky's help I've been able to create a Nether portal to Sazakistan with a relatively safe path connecting to the main portal area in the Nether.
Everyone is obviously welcome to come and take a look around.

Is the server down for anybody else? There have been a few instances in the past where my computer "can't reach server," but none have lasted for a full day before.

Yes, the server crashed again. It's been crashing a LOT lately; maybe once a day since the 1.3/bukkit updating, so I've just done something to try and help that. I've installed a system that monitors the server and should auto-reboot it if the server locks up. The program tests the server every minute to see if it's still responding. If it doesn't get a response from the server for 5 minutes, it will auto-restart the server, which should fix any issues. I've also got it currently setup to do scheduled restarts every 6 hours. You will receive in-game text notifying you of the restart at the 10 minute, 5 minute, and 1 minute marks before the restart. Restarts should only take a few seconds, so it'll just require you to log back in and shouldn't be too inconvenient. These are basically the default settings, so I'm just going to leave them as they are for the moment and see how the system performs. I can tweak the timing and options later. Let me know if you notice any issues with it.

I think my newer 7x sensor is permanently broken. Sticky pistons randomly engage and get forced out of the machine and both the day and night outputs stay on. Oddly enough the 2X at my village works okay but it's not sensitive enough.

If anyone could stop by my desert village and offer suggestions, or a fix, I would be grateful. It's a key component of my new village.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so and I did not intend for it apply there. If find yourself running into a border there, let me know.

To turn lights on when it gets dark. It's like an automatic power generator. The whole town will be wired when it's done.

I finished most of the lights and fountains last night. The area is pretty safe but there are still a lot of spawns. Slabs are no longer a countermeasure.

So the server crashed while I was on last night. I was in the middle of creating a zombie XP farm where the zombies will fall 23 blocks. I built some 23 block pillars and a room at the top. Now I log in and the room is mostly still there, but the pillars are gone. Minecraft's transaction integrity leaves something to be desired.

That's odd, it should be saving constantly. I'll look into it, maybe it has something to do with the rebooting system. At least the server restarted itself that time, that's an improvement.

Would anybody have any spare saddles they'd be willing to sell? I tried to buy one off the testificates at one of Vlad's villages, but none of them had any. They're not really essential for anything, but I'm one of those slightly OCD people that hates to advance on to something new unless all the little details are sorted .

Incidentally TC, the Tree Assist plugin appears to be not working for me - chopping down the bottom block of a tree trunk no longer automatically cuts down the rest. The foliage still disappears faster than vanilla afterwards, though.

Check the chests in my village stronghold/storage room. I should have a couple. Take on. I'm in need of mossy cobblestone so I'd appreciate it if you had some to spare.

I had the same problem with tree assist last night as well. Happened after the server reboot.

Thanks Vlad! I don't have any mossy cobble (for the same reason I don't have saddles - I avoid dungeons like the plague), but I'll drop off some diamonds/emeralds.

TreeAssist has been having increasingly serious issues since 1.3.2 came out, and the addition of the server reboot module seems to have made it worse. The error log gets spammed constantly with tree assist problems. I reported the issue to the mod author a few days ago, but there hasnt been a response yet. I will disable the module completely until it's fixed.

That is much appreciated. I believe they should be in a chest close to the entrance/exit. I may have some in my desert outpost, across from the bridge. Take a spare if you like as I'll likely not use them.

If anyone has any mossy cobblestone to spare or trade, please let me know what you'd like in return. I still have several stacks of obsidian I may not use for a while. There's no tax for using the trading village but gifts are appreciated.
