Yeah.. you should change it so it lists stats for the tank they drive in that match. I find it more informative... I have win rate for that tank, number of games played on that tank and general win-rate (just to see if they just bought the tank and had a few bad games).

What do you guys think of the new tanks? The AT-2 TD on tier V has humongous armour at 200 mm. I might grind it just for the craic. We should get together and platoon with it. It's the KV-1 all over again.

The new update is out I guess... I need to download.
I did run a few tests in the test client, but wasn't really able to run anything than the 183 mm derp. That gun is just insane if it stays as is (was). One shooting Pattons can't be too fun...
The only real troublemaker was the AMX 13 90 as it was impossible to hit. I was starting to believe that the FV215b(183) had a special penalty against the AMX... the shots seem to swerve away from their paper armour.
Funny though... I got my new laptop the other day and put WoT on it. It is the upgraded version of my old one. But this has 64bit OS, a larger SSD, slightly better CPU and double graphic memory.
Auto detecting graphic settings, sets everything on maximum, but reality is, it can barely play games with the enhanced graphic mode. Medium - low works at around 20 fps, but Standard - high will yield the same fps. Setting everything on low gets around 50 fps. My old computer will yield 80+ fps with the same low standard setting.


I also have War Thunder on it and that game will run smooth on high with an average of 30 fps - which IMO yields fantastic graphics. Damn, that game looks good.

and runs perfect.


The reason is obvious.. the GPU just can't cut it.. doesn't matter how much GDDR5 ram you put on it if the GPU can't cope. you are left with a mediocre (on some games) gaming machine. Just too sad WoT isn't using better technology.

Alright... I am writing here because its too much hassle to ask in the tech forums.

I am not happy with my laptops, but I can't defend getting a laptop with a Quadro FX K5000M graphic card.
I could however do something with "our" current desktop machine.

I want to be able to play with higher quality graphics. Our current desktop is a HP pavilion with a GeForce GT 630 (came with the machine).
Its a decent machine for family budget keeping and mail, but I see potential in the bugger. It has win8, 8GB DDR3 and a i5 3350 processor.

I could install a mid-range graphic card on it, but that would probably necessitate an upgrade of the PSU. I have looked at the Geforce GTX 660, but I haven't been involved in putting together a PC since 2002 and am kinda rusty when it comes to checking all details and getting the best deal.
I think it has a 300W PSU.

So what would you suggest? nothing too expensive (graphic card around €200/$260 and PSU to match).

My PSU is somewhere around 550 or 600 Watts, doesn't always have to be one for 120€+ with 95+ Gold etc., just one that works.
I let my local shop decide and they also rectified an early issue (some electric parts made humming noises) by replacing it with another one.
Not sure whether you need 600W even (my CPU eats up a lot of energy, Phenom II), but more than 300 is advisable.
I also switched to a GTX 660 with 2GB from GigaByte, has a very nice, very quiet fan and runs the game at 30-40 fps with pretty much everything maxed out. Since it's not a fast jump, turn, jump shooter type of game, I'm happy with around 30 fps and it looks really nice.

Right.. but do you have GTX 660Ti or the cheaper one (prob a €50 difference)?
I also notice a difference in price on the card compiler: Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, EVGA, Gainward etc..

Oh come on Sigurd, I'm the resident german grammar nazi...if I had a Ti, I'd have written Ti.
I bought mine when they were just out and the deal at the local shop for the GigaByte version was really cheap given that prices everywhere else were high as supply was low. I have absolutely no complaints, it's slightly overclocked and this Windforce cooler is really quiet as I mentioned before (which makes the low price I paid even better), can't say much about other manufacturers' cards.

So I was discussing it last night with IA, now we have two servers we should agree which one we want to play on otherwise we would never be able to platoon. So, unless anyone objects will we go for Server 1?

Also, do we want to form a clan, I don't mind stumping up for it, it would need to be rule free so no turning up at certain times or doing certain things, just log in whenever and it'll be easy to see if other members are on, and we could get a clan tag :P

That's why I play on 2. Apart from the obvious reason that it's not obvious, I also assumed there may be fewer people on it, or at least people who are as cool as me because they also chose 2.

The tag is bad, a tag means people expect you to do well or they will mock your clan and every other member of it.
It also means you are unfree, it's like a branding that means you are shackled and owned.

A clan is useful only for clan wars and gold farming if one holds land. some of the bigger clans on American server have all their members getting free premium since they control large territories on the global map.
But besides that no other significant advantage.

The criteria is dropping every day. in the beginning I think anyone below 1200 efficiency rating on XVM was a noob. now a days the widely accepted value is 900 I think.
My personal criteria is when I do dmg equal or more than my HP.

What're you guys grinding now-a-days?

I've been playing on and off, not grinding anything in particular. Was going up the Maus tree, but came to a screeching halt after I reached the first VK heavy. Now after 8.6 and the arty nerfs and general re-balancing might start going at it again.

I hadn't played for a while due to internet problems. Trying to leave a city with a tank with a steady "999" ping was no fun after all.
At the moment it's workable so I play again once in a while as long as the connection holds and I happen to have the time.

Just playing for general progress mostly, biggest achievement was maxing out my fearsome Churchill Gun Carrier by acquiring the top gun for it. I planned to get the E-100 while it was 30% off but due to the internet problems that plan didn't even get close to completion, I've already researched it but lack the credits so far. I did get the IS-7 however.

The 8.6 patch is crazy. Increased gun accuracy across the board = happy sniping. I've recently acquired and fallen in love with the wolverine. Grinding towards the hellcat and jackson both but I'm definitely going to keep it. Also very slowly grinding the jagdpanther towards the jpanther2, but it's going to take forever and after getting the us turreted TDs I'm less excited for it.

The accuracy change singlehandedly turned one of my tanks from completely useless to really great. And I mean that literally.
I used to get very low amounts of damage per battle with the Jagdpanzer E100 because 2/3 shells flew to the edges of the aiming circle hitting either tracks or nothing at all (sometimes damage per battle was <1000). Now I am finally dealing some serious damage, getting >3000 damage per battle in the few games I played so far.

The higher relevance of armor in all and especially in higher tiers (9/10) is nice as well.

Talked to rajpoot (diain) on the OrgCraft server and he wondered if I had stopped playing WoT due to the lack of participation in this thread.
Well... I am still playing on and off. Not as active as I once was, but a game here and there to get closer to my current goal : T110E4.

I am currently playing the fully upgraded T30, which is quite horrible without the top gun. Some claim that it is better with the T28 top gun, but I disagree. My play style demands high damage caliber - which is what I am aiming for with the E4.
Grinding the T30 to get the exp to unlock the monster E4 can be a chore sometimes and I diversify by playing the beloved money maker Type 59. Remember this character of a tank?

The GeForce experience app comes with a handy recorder, which incidentally is quite good. Therefore ladies and gents, my first published World of Tanks match: Enjoy!!

Just installed. Two missions in my little kraut starter tankette have resulted in two blown vehicles. My 5 shot total has generated 2 hits, both of which penetrated for a grand total of 74 damage.

I feel like I'm playing MAG for the first time -- it is fun but I feel a little lost. It will get better I suppose, it did with MAG.
