As stated if you read a bit the forum, EB is not the most stable mod and not having a good computer doesn't help either. With my old computer I had frequent crashes also. Play the battles at normal unit size or small with low graphics.
Close all other programs when running EB or use a program to do it for you (Advanced System Care for example).
