Sure they probably don't work very well and might be a pain to setup, but the hard boiled ones will still play the game inspite of all this, without paying.
They don't work and blizzhack or whatever that site was called stopped trying a few months after release. You could at most strut around in New Tristram and the game crashed when you tried going out, from what I read.
