    Yes, some stuff is hardcoded.


    BTW Anyone tried to import VI factions to the main campaign?

    Vikings would be great for Barbary coast pirates - plus this way we could get one or two factions to use in the main campaign. Perhaps even in ALL eras - that could be so wonderful.

    Yes. As I said if you declare Barbary coast pirates as FN_07 they won't need ports to board and move their armies wherever their ships are. Of course, their general behavior depends on chosen AI type.

    It reminded me of something. Another hardcoded faction is FN_GOLDEN_HORDE. As we know they appear in 1231 in Khazar, Volga Bulgaria and few others provinces. When I was working on Middle-Earth mod I've modified the MTW "exe" and changed the date to TA 1856 to simulate Wainriders invasion. Just mention this if someone would like to push modifications that far.

    Wow, so it is possible to modify the .exe file so far? Can other events be modified/added?

    I think we could use a couple, hell - a dozen or more, but even one could be extremely useful.

    Sadly we won't need the Golden Horde entry event - the list of the factions is full and all factions should be available to play in campaigns from the beginning.



    Faction 07 would be useful for the Pirates, so we can use it in their place.

    Except 1231 Golden Horde event, I nailed another 8 including Compass Rose. It's a bit time consuming task but I'm sure more can be found. Of course, they will need some testing, especially ones that directly influence campaign map (possible situation when event's target province doesn't exist). I'll send you an example EXE soon.

    Right now I cannot really test anything until I separate what was added when, throw a clean copy and install 1.5 out there.

    It is better and more effecient to describe what was achieved and with what event.

    If the event in question cannot be changed (its effects, features, whatever) we could at least find some use for it, change the description and change the info_picture.


    BTW How many events can be used for building/unit requirements? That would be very, very useful for military reforms which should never be available too early yet there is no way to limit it.

    Several buildings could use the same event as requirement, so the more the better, but even 3 could be enough.
    See? Answering thise questions requires some testing, which I cannot do anyway, so it is considerably better to discuss a feature instead of sending me a file.

    I've finally identified 68 events which dates can be freely changed. Many of them use the same art so there are a bit limited in use. Two the most important are Compass Rose and Gunpowder which can be added as restrictions in BUILD_PROD file. There are still 3 or 4 events which depend on more triggers than just a year or their appearance is random so they are hard to localize. I'll make a summary of what I found soon.
