School project? comments before you hand it in?
Just make sure you spell the character names consistently throughout the article. I encountered Gandalf/Gandolf, Saruman/Saurman/Sauromen, Galadriel/Galadrial etc.
Cynical critics might think you copied from other articles that spelled characters consistently wrong. Any fan of Tolkien will spot the mistakes instantly, which also looks bad on any author professing to know a thing or two of Tolkien and his texts.
Also (I hail from the Norse), are you sure Tolkien took the lightening of beacons from meta-bible texts and not from many of his Norse projects. Very common practice in our folklore to signal on mountain tops when enemy approached (from before iron age).
You could do many of the Judeo/Christian tradition = Tolkien world also as Norse Mythology = Tolkien world. And you do mention his and his friend's fascination of the Norse myths in your article.
Dwarfs and Elves are more or less taken from Norse mythology. Æsir = valar - demigods. Also consider Vanar = Valar (quite similar in name and purpose) - many hierarchies of creatures of power as found in Silmarillion, which is the Middle earth mythology book to read.
Gandalf is an epitome of Odin's midgard guise. Trolls, orcs and goblins are typical of Norse mythology and more so the more sinister evil forces of dragons, balrogs and nazgûl.
