04/12 Generic Fantasy WW Game Thread

OK, a few thoughts from a Barto that really needs Focusyn but won't take it so that the John Carpenter film that's about to start can actually disable my remaining neurons and make me fall asleep before 5 a.m. for once in my sorry life.

There's a lot of players whom I cannot read (ladd, Egix, dyachei -mostly-, Insaner, Empoof, merl1n, Fable -mostly-) because I haven't played with them -well, dyachei and Fable a bit, but it's been ages. So I'll play it by ear.
There's something weird there.

Zack's being aggressive and his read on me seems to have caused an interesting chain reaction from easy bandwaggoners (notice how *he* isn't voting me ;))…

… and then you voted Choxie, at least, but Fable's reaction makes me still suspect him.

newyn/Choxorn's N/A for now but only because it's D1. I've seen mafia duos get by with mutual tunnelling before.

GH's stopping by to post an announcement that he cannot post is odd.

Cuth… my x-postspidey sense tells me that's the real Cuth, at least he's solving, leave alone for now.

Monty… I think he tried to defend me? Odd. But then he voted for me (post #193) without even saying why, just jumping on the bandwaggon. I cannot take earlier D1 votes as terribly serious but Monty's I can because he does a lot of analysis and then plonks down the vote on me. Ty Monty and vote:Montmorency (Fable, get active, man). Counterwaggon roll, choo-choo!

This is pretty par for the course for how he'd begin a game as villa in my experience

only fable really, which is why I caed about his explanation the most but doesn't look like I'll get it in brief time

I'm still reading through the thread, I've had a busy few days, but my impressions so far:

Zack's opening was strong, but that's to be expected, Zack's a strong player. I'm hesitant to prematurely say he's town, but everything points in that direction. He spews sunshine and rainbows.

Empoof seems in a similar vein to Zack, nothing gives me pause about their play so far. Though I'm not familiar with Empoof's play in general, but from my perspective it's all been good so far.

I'm okay with merl1n, Insaner, and Logic overall. I don't particularly think Insaner's "I'm townier, answer my question." was productive, but to each their own. Other than that I haven't read anything from Insaner that would make me think negatively. merl1n just seems pure and engaged, it's refreshing, nothing negative to say about any of their contributions honestly. Logic's opening was meh, but his recent postings were pretty good I thought, and that makes me think he's town.

I agree with Zack's meta read of Barto's behavior, generally I'd expect Barto to vote Insaner there. It probably doesn't mean much, but it seemed cautious to me, which is unexpected from Barto. I might be reading too much into it though.

GH's opening bothered me initially, a bit generic maybe? or just fell flat with me I'm not sure exactly how to describe it. Plus his interaction with Zack about Insaner seemed odd to me. I generally agree with what he posted this morning, so I'm a bit torn overall about how to feel.

Monty is an enigma. I'm not sure how to feel about him currently.

I don't have much else, but I'll continue reading.

Trust me friend, I have read them (though a reread won't hurt.) I say it's concerning because I don't have a feel of how I should read Zack. I can't remember anything to point to say "this is tonally good/bad."

Yeah, GH should have a lock-Logic read before EOD1. If I flip opposite of what he called me, GH is a wolf.

Tbh I'm probably not gonna end up having reads on Hank or Empoof until Day 2. In my mind they are inextricable from their stellar scum performances in the Season 5 finale.

My reads on people who I don't have much or any experience playing with are extremely tentative. I'm not terribly confident nor is my track record terribly good in such cases. I have trouble reading generally in mafia games, so there's that. What I'm trying to say is I'm bad

Capage just feels... very different from the last game I played with him where we were both villagers. Like he isn't providing reads in order to expose the self evident truth of everyone's alignment here but rather just to look like he's contributing. There is little specificity behind his reads and the ones that do have an explanation aren't that hot either.

As for ladd, I just don't get the feeling that we are on the same team here. Like he is working against people I think are likely villa and is giving my wolf reads an easy pass. His reasons for his reads don't impress me either.

would you say capage's the kind of person who makes equivalently off the wall reads as any alignment?

Well insaner is more townie but I don't feel like trusting their reads right now.

Insaner, I want you to very slowly over the course of a either a larger post or a few larger explanation posts explain how you saw barto as town as early as you did (this is cuth's question on who do you think spewed barto as town, which I believe the answer is inside of GH/ladd and that's fine I just want you to actually show it preferably with quotes), I'd like you to stop nitpicking cuth as you're flipflopping harder than my local diner when they make pancakes which is lowering your credibility for me to take you seriously, and I'd like you to repost barto's larger post or a series of posts explaining what inside them you thought was townie.

They're in contention today, it's someone who's name is going to come up. If you're going to hard defend them at least give me that much instead of a bunch of essentially gut town reads on them. If you had a larger explanation that I missed, quote it.

My back still hurts today and I'm pretty pissed about that and have to make a phone call about money in about 30 minutes.

I'm trying to remember if GH thinks I'm an easy read or not. I know he respects my wolf game but I don't think that stops him from reading me at all. Otherwise I agree with his summary post today and he's not the type of player that's going to get "tripped up" by insaner doing insaner things.
