Thread: Old games you'd like to see ported/redone?

Not sure I'd like to see any old games redone because they always seem to screw them up.

But assuming they did it right - I would really love to see a new version of Lords of the Realm II.

I don't know about that one. I still enjoy the original pretty well.

Out of curiosity, what exactly would you like to see in a sequel/remake?

For PC- Masters of Orion II.

For console- Vigelante 8. Dang, I wasted soooooooo much time on that game. My first introduction to the "mindless destruction genre".

Hell yeah, LOTRIII was just sooo abysmally bad, how they could release a game that was so crap is still a mystery to me today. LOTRII is still good, I still get that out every few years.

    MOOIII was similarly crap.

Lucasarts need to release another Star Wars flying game, it has been far too long.

There is allegedly a new Jagged Alliance game in the works, but it is very low profile, so who knows if it will ever see the light of day.

    Freespace 1 or 2

I would say it is the best space combat game I've played with a pretty good campaign too and a ton of mods. Too bad there seems to be a relative dearth of any good space shooters out there now other than maybe Freelancer released like 5 years ago and maybe the X3 series though that is not as focused towards fighting as to empire building

Seriously a new Wing Commander, FreeSpace, Starlancer, Independance War or X-Wing would be greatly appreciated...

The only space shooter that turn up these days tend to be mods or low budget affairs. I haven't actually bothered plugging my joystick into my PC in years!!

Same here... I have a nice Flightstick and Throttle HOTAS setup (with rudder pedals, even), that's gathering dust under my desk.

I'm hoping it's just a necessary dry spell, so we'll get to the point where enough older gamers are nostalgic for those titles, and enough new kids can enter the market who never played them. Then the genre can be something game companies will want to tap into as a "fresh" concept. They can't keep cranking out WWII and Alien Bug shooters forever.

I found and installed Master of Magic, and have been playing it again after many, many years. It's STILL fun! I'm with Martok--waiting with baited breath now for Stardock's take-off on it.

It's great to get so much mileage out of a game.

    KUNG FU CHAOS!

orginally on xbox, kung fu chaos 2 should be made for xbox 360, a very funny fighting game! addictive to, not an annoying fighting game at that, animated graphics and some fun controversial scenes too....

Trog was a game I used to play when I had 5 years old.

I believe there is already a game like that.

But seriously, I would LOVE a remake of Male/Female Alter Ego. I'm tired of playing the DOS and web version.

Simply BattleZone. Strategy and shooter in one package, I felt like I was playing Red Alert in 3D and form first person perspective. True innovation forgotten and tossed away. Of course the gameplay wasn't exactly right, but they improved some of that with BattleZone II. In BZII you could now build structures and vehicles from over the top view which helped me A LOT.

Other than that I would love to see Alpha Centauri and Red Alert remakes, just like they are but improved.

One of my favourite console games ever. close to 60hrs game play on a Ps1 game. Suikoden II for the Ps1. the suikoden games since them have been mostly crap. This game was the first major rpg that i played and I still have a copy. Really its the only reason ih havent sold my Ps2.

For me, I would like someone to revive the old dos game Sword of the Samurai. It has battlefield strategy, single player missions, court intrigue, etc.
