I'm reckless. But also that snow is maybe the main reason Texans haven't taken over all of the USA.
Nope, big knobby dirt bike tires though. On an ole '95 200cc Yamaha. This January when I bring it out again I'm going to put studs on it though. The tires are a bit more worn down. It should be some good fun.Did you have studded tires on that bike like we have here?
Unfortunately, I don't have that bike with me right now; only a naked bike. It snowed a bunch today, and tomorrow it's supposed to be 15F for the high temperature.
So right now my mobility is limited to walking distance and the sporadic bus service.
Oh, and Yoyoma, I love your analogy about New Orleans snow.

I admit to already being a bit tired of the snow this year. *gah!* I'm becoming old.

Snow is a part of life, Rabbit. We all have to get used to it... I'm freezing right now.
Not so fast, Aemilius.

Back when I lived in Russia during the winter, we used to build tunnels in two-meter deep snow. That was incredibly fun. Albeit dangerous since there was a risk of collapse. I've seen more snow than probably anyone ever did in mainland US. I even remember a winter when the snow piled up as high as two and a half meters. Not exaggerating.
Yeah, same here in Canada. I loved building tunnels, it was so fun, although the danger assosiated with doing so never really crossed my mind.Originally Posted by AP
For some bizarre reason, this thread makes me happy. It pleases me that others are so excited about snow. We have had snow here for a few weeks already. And some of the people I am working with (Irish) are all over the place. They behave like little children in the snow. It's brilliant!

Come on guys ... Have you ever rode a motorcycle in snow?
It is a brave endeavor and I am impressed.
Did you have studded tires on that bike like we have here?
Snow and driving is fun and reminds me of a glorious youth. Today the cars have ABS, ESP, front wheel drive and a host of other technical driving aids.
New drivers don't really learn to drive nowadays.
When the first snow comes, the traffic grinds to a halt by young mothers and kids being terrified by the strange slippery surface.
Me.. I get out my old Volvo 740 with backwheel drive and no driving aids, put some real winter tires on and take it for a spin full throttle.
It never goes straight but drifting has never been easier. It is top fun.![]()

At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
Has anyone noticed we have three 'snow' threads now?
The horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
It actually snowed here about two months ago, started with hail and ended up snowing about a centimetre. I took pictures it was such a freak event.
