Previous Day write up for those in need
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    End Day Seven...

The surviving guests expectantly watched the little girl idly rock back and forth on her heels while staring at the main halls grandfather clock with both fear and anticipation. Seconds, minutes ticked by, and several began to sweat profusely, hoping and waiting. Finally, she spun around and giggled as the clock struck 6.

"Okay, day can start, so who do you thi-"

Before she could finish, everyone pointed at Sigi. "HIM!!"

Cocking her head to the side, the little girl shrugged. "Ooookay, if you say so..." Snapping her fingers, the same dark hands which dragged down Sigrid appeared, and tried to grasp him. But Sigi brushed aside the hands as if they were leaves in the wind.

"Seems my part in this game of your is up, but unlike so many others I am not going quietly. You don't own us, whatever you are. You cannot decide to just kill me because they said so, and I won't tolerate such a pathetic display! I am Gader'el, one of the five satans, and you contend with more then you have ever thought of little one."

The young, suave body of the Lawyer everyone could see suddenly exploded in a shower of gore as Gader'el assumed his physical form, a sight so terrible to behold that all but the little girl and one other fell to their knees and covered their eyes.

Gader'el burst into laughter, his voice a hundred echoes of clanging swords and shields. "Come now, what will you do to me little girl? What can you against my power! BOW, or I shall send thee to oblivion!"

The little girl simply cocked her head to the side and giggled. "Gatorade, such a nice name! But Mr.Gatorade, you have to play by the rules, so no hurting the host. Your time is up."

Gader'el twitched at the nonchalance with which he was dismissed, and the ease with which his name was slaughtered. "How DARE you, you insolent little whe-" Before his sentence was finished, the doors to the house blew open, and with a twirl from the little girls pointer finger, Gader'el was yanked by and invisible force from the house and into the white blanket of the sky.

    Begin Night Eight...

Andres sat in his room, extremely tired from the previous day. However, he still had work to do - exorcising the Daemon Gader'el from the house, hopefully ending this sick game the ghost of the little girl had them trapped in.

"It's not sick Mr.Andres, games can't get sick, only people...and pets!" To his left sat the little girl, hugging her teddy bear.

"Someone never taught you your manners young lady, you must knock before entering someone's room. Please, leave me be, I have some very important business to get to, so I can make the evil spirits go away."

Giggling, the little girl did a cartwheel across to the door. "Mr.Gatorade is gone-gone Mr.Andres, and you'll be gone-gone now too." Andres gave the little girl a quick double take before he heard the heavy rattle of chains from where the girl once stood.

Andres peered hesitantly to his left, were he was confronted by the silhouette of Sigrid, wrapped in chains and wielding a crescent scythe. Her eyes pierced through the night, white and soulless, with not an ounce of pity.

The last thing that went through Andres mind was the tip of Sigrid's scythe, rending the old man in two. "Eewww...Siggy's, thats sooo gross!" The little girl broke out in giggles as she opened the door for Rene.

"Let's get this over with, I wish to settle things with you little one once this is over. I highly dislike the the feeling of being used." Rene sashayed over to the two halves of Andres and began to mutter over them. After a minute, Rene dunked her hand in the steaming pile of Andres and pulled out a what appeared to be a whispery sheet of thin silk - Andres soul.

"Finally, the last one, now to-" Rene's eye's bulged as she watched the thin sheet begin to glow golden. It became hard, and then became heavy, slamming Rene's outstretched arm into the ground and dislocating it. A few seconds more and it took the form of a young, handsome Andres in his prime, his features flawless and his hair a flaxen golden color, his eyes a silvered. From his back came large, golden feathered wings.

Wrenching free of Rene's hand, the Angel of Andres floated up through the roof as all three in the room stood or sat in dumbstruck awe. Rene spoke first.

"Now I know forgiveness must work, cause a nympho-alcoholic like him should never have had it that easy...alright, since that's scratched, time to-"

With a sharp thwack, Sigrid's scythe impeded itself in Rene's head, ending the bodies life. But out the back, a dark shadowy spirit with no form slipped out, and turned it's burning coal eyes at the little girl. "This was not part of the deal! How dare you! I am Yeqon, Lord of Deception an-"

The little Girl coked her head to the side. "Yeesh, you gunna be just like Mr.Gatorade all over again, aren't you Mr.Yak On?." Sighing, the little girl twirled her finger, and Yeqon, with a surprised look in his eyes, was yanked from the house through the window and into the wintery night. With a nod from the little girl, Sigrid obediently shouldered the dead body of Rene like a runaway's pack, the body dangling from the scythe by the head.

Through the House, and into the basement the two went, where the little girl had kept all the other bodies, piled neatly one on top of each other. Sigrid plucked Rene's body off the scythe and threw it on the pile as the little girl walked over and sat down in front of it. "Okay, I did my part Teddy, now it's your turn." The teddy that the girl always carried with her suddenly sprang to life, it's eyes gleaming evilly. "Oh, of course, I'll grant your wish as you asked, you have served me well. As agreed, six souls for one, the rest may go free."

The teddy waved it's hand, and the pile of bodies heaved, and then turned into a bubbling pool of blood, burning a shallow pool into the cement. Motioning for the little girl to step in, Teddy took a few steps back. Carefully, the little girl tested the pool of gore before leaping all at once into it. Nothing happened for a few seconds when suddenly the blood surged upward and engulfed the little girl, her form dissolving as it settled back down.

As the blood evaporated, it revealed the now living girl at the bottom of the pool, huddled and cold. Teddy cackled. "There, your mortality is yours again. To insure you have the long life I promised you, keep Sigrid - she shall be your ever watchful and ever protective guardian. Oh, and here, a blanket, to cover yourself with." Teddy skipped off into the night, cackling, as Sigrid stood watch over the little girl.

From the top of the stairs, a young voice called out. "Is everything okay down here? I heard some sizzling and it smelt like something had caught fire an-" Little Quinn stopped dead in his tracks as he caught sight of the little girl wrapped up in the blanket. "Uh...who are you?" When she didn't respond, Quinn edged closer, noticing the new imposing form of his sister as well.

Closer now, Quinn spoke again. "Hey, who are you...um, girl? Whats your name?" With still no reply, he stepped closer. When he was but a few inches away, the little girl looked up and smiled with perfect teeth. "My names Queenie, whats yours?" Quinn fell backwards with a surprised look. "Uh...Quinn..." Queenie giggled. "Neat, both our names start with Q! What a coincidence!"

Behind the two, Sigrid stood watch solemnly, content in the knowledge that she would now be forever able to take care of Quinn and protect him. She allowed her self a triumphant smile.

I knew it but nothing I could do...

How can you deal with a converted ghost who actually isn't even on your side to begin with?

Thank you for hosting YLC, very interesting game. Incredible immersion factor, not to mention 160 PM's of the game in my box (and I sent out well over 200).

    Congrats Sigurd and QJC!

EDIT: I would like to especially note that White eyes was an excellent excellent member of our team. It was a pleasure working with the evasive glyphz and the absolutely determined White eyes.

Will post more thoughts, PM's later.

Aw, you could have won! Had you either A] Not tried to convert a third time (even had it been Chaotix, he would have become the Avatar of Malice), or B] Killed Sigurd this night, which would have resulted in a 1-1 to ratio with Mafia-Town and thus a mafia victory.

EDIT - Roles fixed to represent Ares and WE conversion

I could kill Sigurd? Never knew that. Ah well.

My plan was going to be to hustle Sigurd in his plan to do a double kill on Andres and go for QJC myself. But then I noted that with QJC being blocked, there was no chance of success.

I'm not even sure QJC KNOWS he was part of the winning team. That's what's so frustrating and brilliant at the same time.

White eyes was my first converted ghost. That's why he jerked by the way. EDIT: Ares was converted??? I thought he was immediately exorcised?

Sigurd counted as both living and dead, which is why he remained listed as both "Alive" and as "Dead", if anyone noticed, and why you didn't win the game with shlin's death

This also meant Andres could exorcise him, so that may have worked too. You could have also lynched him all over again.

Definitely one of the best, if not the best, small mafia game I have ever participated in

The intrigues of the dead is legendary, never in a game had I seen so much participation from dead players. The post count for this game thread does no justice to the amount of activity it gotten from players discussing it outside the thread.

    Bravo YLC, bravo!

Wait... I investigated RR when I was a detective... how did it not scream "GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY"?

Is it because the "root of it" was the host, so none of the players I investigate are "guilty" of it... does it mean my role was worthless?

I see, as soon as I got Sigurd to spill the beans about his nature, I realized that the Avatar of Malice was simply too powerful to deal with, and though the game unwinnable.

Then the plan was to kill QJC. Sigurd seemed very worried at potential consequences of having QJC killed and I hoped that with him gone, Sigurd would lose power and go away. Alas that failed as the ghosts would either block him preventing a kill by me, or block me, preventing my kill (Andres was too out of the rut ).

My last ditch attempt was getting Andres soul to somehow turn into an evil power role and kill Sigurd.

    Haha, I know.

Until the last minute I still thought I was pro-town and tried hard to get rid of the mafias and made sure for a townie win. And by the way I wasn't blocked... I made sure of that.

    What was Reenk's role exactly?
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

Also, great game, YLC. I'm afraid I'm still pretty confuzzled as to what exactly has been going on for a while, however...

    Eagerly awaiting the commentary.

Yeah, the dead investigation squad on my side didn't pick up any result against RR either. Like he said, he's been blocked and investigated numerous times without showing any clues to his evil nature. Why is that?

If anyone is interested... my PMs...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    ROLE PM
You are John Shlin, a 28 year old cop down on his luck. You've got a good heart, and your always ready to lend a hand as selflessly as you can, but your job is absolutely distasteful. You constantly see the corruption that has embedded itself within your precinct, and it sickness you and makes you burn with fury.
    Role
You received the mysterious note just like all the guests, and with the sudden strange goings on, you've taken it upon yourself to figure out this whole mess and put those behind it in cuffs.

You are the Detective (Pro-Town). Once per night, you may pick one player to investigate. You will receive a summary of their guilt (or non-guilt) and if they took an action that night, but will not be aware of the nature of the action.

    N1
You wait until it's completely dark out before sneaking across the hall to ATPG's room, quickly picking the lock and darting inside. You quietly go through his things - robes, a cross, a bible, and whats this? A playboy magazine? Well, seems you've found a preacher, and he's not the perfect saint you'd expect either.

You finish searching through everything else and come to the conclusion this preacher isn't the root of it - even if he's a perv. You quietly lock the door from the inside as you sneak out, back to your own room.

    N2
You wait until it's completely dark out before sneaking across the hall to Reenk Roinks's room, quickly picking the lock and darting inside. You quietly go through his things - books on the paranormal, amulets and sigils, some weird electronic equipment...and whats this? A pair of pink panties? Well, seems you've found a wierdo, and he seems to be into drag as well.

You finish searching through everything else and come to the conclusion this wierdo isn't the root of it - even if he's a perv. You quietly lock the door from the inside as you sneak out, back to your own room.

    N3
You wait until it's completely dark out before sneaking across the hall to Quintus's room, quickly picking the lock and darting inside. You quietly go through his things - some books on the supernatural, a PSP, Mp3 player, and a journal...and it's filled with some strange writing, and absurd rants. His handwriting seems to waver too, from elegant to very poor...seems to almost be a weird work of fiction.

You finish searching through everything else and come to the conclusion this kid isn't the root of it - even if he's a bit off his rocker. You quietly lock the door from the inside as you sneak out, back to your own room.

    N4
You wait until it's completely dark out before sneaking across the hall to ATPG's room, quickly picking the lock and darting inside. You quietly go through his things - robes, a cross, a bible, and whats this? A playboy magazine? Well, seems you've found a preacher, and he's not the perfect saint you'd expect either.

You finish searching through everything else and come to the conclusion this preacher isn't the root of it - even if he's a perv. You quietly lock the door from the inside as you sneak out, back to your own room. And stop.

Wait, haven't you investigated this guy before?

    N5
You wait until it's completely dark out before sneaking across the hall to Andre's room, quickly picking the lock and darting inside.

Hang, you have! Hm, must be his playboy collection you keep coming back for...

    N6
You wait until it's completely dark out before sneaking across the hall to Sigurd's room, quickly picking the lock and darting inside. You quietly go through her things - school books, a laptop and phone, a handful of money, and whats this? A Catholic school girls outfit? Well, seems you've found a student, and she's either a saint or is into some kinky stuff.

You finish searching through everything else and come to the conclusion this girl isn't the root of it - and stop drooling! You quietly lock the door from the inside as you sneak out, back to your own room.

Reading this leads to more questions... how can Andres be an "angel" when he reads Playboy magazines?

Yeqon and Gader'el are both one of the five Satans, I thought Reenk smelled damn scummy when he tried to lynch either Andres or me when it was obvious that Glyphz was mafia.

You would have won the game, since Sigurd would have failed his victory conditions.

Also, he was open for a hit that night - shlin sent in a order countermanding QJC's and thus negating QJC attempt at protection.

Again, VERY winnable for you - but of course, the Daemon's also go after the Sexy Priests

To clarify for the confused - Reenk's role was to convert Dead townies into mafia. His ability had a 75% chance of success on a basic townie. He never once killed anyone, so he would have never appeared guilty. Reenk also knew, by way of the Ghost Council, when he was going to be roleblocked - thus, he simply did not send in a night order when you guys roleblocked him. When you investigated him, his "calm meditation" was him astrally projecting himself into the mind of White Eyes and converting him - since it wasn't a kill, he did not appear guilty.

I gambled on this and tried to summon Beefy's spirit to protect me... Shlin's order could of ruined everything, luckly it didn't

Hah! So my gut told me true...
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

So I was the only one who sent in the "Block" QJC order?

Damn, Reenk's had a great game. I never would of even suspected him if it weren't for his votes in the last round.

Can I see Sigurd's PM? I thought we were the good guys/gal.

    My role:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Your partner in this venture is Gader'el. Although he is more overt then you, he will serve his purpose to eliminate the foolish mortals so you can then complete your part.

You are a Yeqon (mafia). Once per night, you may select a dead "Ghost" townie and try to convert them to your side as mafia. Your ability does have a chance of failure, and you may only try twice to convert a single "Ghost". Once you have converted a Ghost, I will send you more information.

If at anytime Gader'el dies, you also gain the ability to perform his night kill ability, but without his additional enhancements.

You've managed to "acquire" a host for use as cover - this is your host PM.

You are Rene Roni, a 25 year old psychic in training. You discovered your abilities while you were young, and with some education from a few old masters, you have learned to control and channel your power. However, most people just think your a crack, but your a diehard believer in what you can do and have set out to prove that the paranormal exists...

You received the mysterious note just like all the guests, and you see an opportunity to set up your very own paranormal labs. Excitement grows within you at the sheer possibilities...

You are the Psychic (Pro-Town). You can hear and speak to the dead players. You can send and receive PM's from dead players and "Ghosts".

Good Luck, and PM me for any questions you may have

    My actions:

Night 1: Nothing no dead people.
Night 2: Convert Beefy - failed because Sigurd had sex with me.
Night 3: Convert White eyes - succeeded while the ghosts were watching me.
Night 4: Convert Ares - failed - Andres exorcised him immediately
Night 5: I believe this was Askthepizzaguy or Chaotix (I really wanted you on for all your support ) - failed because maybe a general fail of my ability as well OR maybe because Andres came in and started preaching
Night 6: Nothing - was sick didn't send in PM - but was blocked anyway
Night 7: Convert Sigurd - success, but not really
Night 8: Convert Andres - failed it looks like because he was an angel?

    Am I missing one?
