I'd just like a quick checkup on the stance of the .Org's hardcore players towards the ETW demo. I remember back when the M2TW demo's were released, I didn't even bother to download them, instead relying on the opinions and experience of other players. IMO, it wasn't worth the long download back when my computer was obselete and hardly able to run RTW, let alone a M2TW demo.
So, I hereby demand your opinions. This poll is compulsory for every Orgah. Consider it a tax of some sort, without representation. The mob doesn't need representation.
EDIT: Eh, that's contradictory. Isn't a poll a form of representation? You know what, don't think about it; just vote.

I think I might have been registered with Steam years ago for Half Life 2. I haven't bothered to use it since, though, so I consider myself unregistered. So no, I will not be downloading the demo.

Im registered twice, and soon will be three times and hopefully wont forget the password this time.
Registered years ago and gonna get the demo to see if its worth ordering right away, wait for player reviews or just simply drop it and move on.

You do realize there is a way to recover your forgotten passwords? In fact there are 2 ways in Steam.
I have been registered for a few years now and will download the demo even if it comes out after the game is released. So yes no matter what.
To spend time and electric power to download the demo? Even further, to bother to enlist with Steam, create a password soon to be forgotten anyway, et cetera, et cetera? I think not. I didn't even have a peek at the M2TW demo--I merely bought the game, thinking it would be better than MTW, got disappointed, then even more disappointed when I bought Kingdoms. Nah, no ETW demo for me, but perhaps I'll buy the game sometime June or July to try if I'll like it. Saith an old English sage: "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." So,I'll not be satisfied with a demo only. Mrreow to you beautiful guys all!

I'll be testing out the demo this time unlike the times before where I downloaded the demo merely to sate my appetite but afterwards knew I'd be getting the game even though there were some bugs. For RTW I was so enamoured with the game from the press (remember the BBC gameshow style series with the RTW engine playing out historical battles?) I knew I"d get the game as soon as it came out. For M2TW picked it up because I had high hopes from MTW and had played the demo, but I was hesitant...
For Empire, I'll test the demo to see if it'll be worth my time to get the game rather than assume it's a foregone conclusion.

I have registered just after I read that the demo was to be released today. Lets say the hype has worked. It better be good!!

I'm staying at uni for an extra hour and a half just so I can use their connection and get an insane speed on the download!
Fisherking 09:12 02-20-2009
I’ll be there!
Sir Beane 12:45 02-20-2009
The demo shall be mine! No matter what I have to do to get my hands on it!
Lusitani 13:34 02-20-2009
So...will the demo only be available through steam?

yep!
so far as anyone knows it is exclusive to steam
I was going to skip the demo, but then I saw Brandywine Creek was the land battle. That's practically in my backyard, so now I feel like I have to get it.
Never used Steam in my life.
I won't be getting the demo. No internet on my gamming PC.

It'd better be worth the wait!

You do realise that when you install the full game you will need to be connected to the internet to register it with Steam?
Meaning I won't be getting it until April. When I can heft my PC across the yard without fear of slipping on the ice.

I guess I'm not a fool after all, I logged into Steam and I got this big pop up saying Empire Demo, play now! So I couldn't resist, I'm at 10%, I hope it finishes before I have to step out.
Belgolas 20:14 02-20-2009
only took me 30 minutes to download :).
Owen Glyndwr 22:42 02-20-2009
Meh, I would like the option of saying "I have steam, but my computer sucks too much to play the demo
Polemists 06:33 02-21-2009
