I agree, yogurt usually treats me pretty well and I have a similar though less severe problem. On occasion I will feel quite hungry early in the morning, though usually I am not hungry at all. My solution is usually to eat something with my coffee, though not a lot, a bagel with cream cheese, some yogurt, something light, and then I generally feel okay.

    More seriously.

During my adolescent years I had an issue with eating bread to soon before I woke up. It would make me vomit. Maybe my body hadn't started producing the proper enzymes need to break down the starches, I don't know. It would take several hours before I could stomach it.

During that period I usually ate dairy, fruits, and proteins (mainly meats [pork chops or calf liver])) in the morning.

You might try this as well.

Oatmeal is easy & quick to make, versatile and can be combined with fresh fruit or jam and some milk. It's also cheap, about $1 for a 3lb. box, and it's healthy too.

Well, I recently tried to start eating oatmeal again... I mean, if it's good enough for a mule, it's good enough for a man.

But it doesn't take going to the spicy side as well as other breakfast cereals.

So I'll have to stick with cream of wheat, cous cous, and grits.

I'll still use them to make oatmeal lace cookies though.
