That was one comment by an anonymous source. I've worked for several years at a Blood Center in California, was born in Japan, and could donate blood. Blood donation regulations vary from city to city, state to state in the US. I'm not saying that person's claim was incorrect for his area--but there's probably more to it than just what was posted. It's best to take any information got from the 'net with a boulder of salt, consider the source, cross-reference, etc..

Sacramento Blood Center. Was in ... 1987-89 iirc. I left after getting an IT job in CA civil service, but it was a great experience. Learned some great stuff about customer service from my manager at the time. Good ol' Cindy ... miss her.
