American Civil War, if done at all, would be best as an Expansion/Mod of Empire.

    Indeed, it would be epic.

    2) An American Civil War TW game seems unlikely based on the TW game criteria Kieran spelled out.
Ah, well, one can only hope!

I agree, although some have questions about the marketability of such an expansion to the rest of the world. I, for one, would like to see it.

Well the ray of hope is that small Alexander/Kingdoms campaigns need not fulfill all that criteria. I agree that a full fledged US Civil War sequel or dedicated expansion is probably out of the question, but the possibility of it being one mini campaign amongst several is definitely there.

Good point Graphic. Maybe a French Revolution and a German unification mini-campaigns in addition can satisfy the European interest. Any other possibilities come to mind?

I'm sure there has to be a Napoleonic campaign somewhere there in the works.

As far as future directions go, I could possibly see CA going for a World War I game set in the future if they want to go that modern. It definitely fits the criteria.

When I clicked on this thread I thought it would be a mea culpa for their spooning with sega on that review.

That review was kind of my last straw with IGN.

In regards to an expansion, they will probably do a collection like in kingdoms and I'm sure napoleon etc will all be represented.

And when the brazen cry of achilles
Was heard among the trojans, all their hearts
Were troubled, and the full-maned horses whirled
The chariots backward, knowing griefs at hand...
