The Final Night.

Detective Andy could bear the weight of his crime no longer. It was time to overdose and kill himself. Deep in depression, he takes the medication... but the dose was not fatal. Andy went insane. He started to change... to change... to change into something more.... more..... the incarnation of Desire. The Psycho had returned as Desire... and he broke down the door to his room, and took the metal bar with him. Time to massacre the weak once again, and steal their precious gems and consume them.

Yes... for the gems were really stones of greatness... they gave the God of Desire his strength. His great wisdom. His great courage. His unflinching certainty. And his terrible destructive power. The God of Desire stalked the halls of the asylum and found his victim... the insane one known as Psychonaut. How ironic that Psychonaut would be annihilated by the Psycho... the God of Desire.

Psychonaut spoke with the voices of them all...

Yes.... yes.... these were the stones of power. Andy, the God of Desire, found the very stones which would make him great.

The burning corpse of the one known as Fahad rose.... as the Death God, Gohbel.

Gohbel walked down the hallways of the burning asylum... casting orbs of fire in all directions... seeking to consume everything in delicious flame. The burning God of Death came across Psychonaut's dead body... and from those dead lips, he heard that Psychonaut was White Eyes... White Eyes.... the Death God caused Psychonaut's body to lift up and walk with him down the burning hallway. Appearing behind the Death God were the spectres of Death... Boudica, Greyblades, woad&fangs, Ares, Yoyoma, Captain Blackadder, Beefy187, Taka the Provider, Kralizec, TheFlax, and Lord Winter.

They came across White_Eyes, who was busy cutting his wrists with a wooden spoon. He looked at the Death spirits and saw his idol, the Provider.

And Gohbel took pity on the insane fool, and launched a firestorm towards the confused mortal. He incinerated instantly. The Death spirits marched towards the far side of the Asylum... closer and closer...

The Final Night.

Detective Andy was in his room, blood all over his hands, coming out of his drug-induced delerium... he saw what he had done. He worked feverishly to finish the radio transmitter, but he could sense the spectre of Death approaching. The final piece of the puzzle was missing. Detective Andy had failed for the last time. He took the radio transmitter and hurled it out of his window... it landed softly in the adjacent field, right before the forest. When he turned around, he saw the image of Death incarnate. Gohbel, in all his burning fury, stood before Detective Andy, and with the wrath of the Gods, he summoned a brilliant, searing flame. Detective Andy welcomed death, for it was the only way to cleanse his soul and pay for his terrible atrocities. Gohbel smiled on Andy, and purified him in flame. He died very quickly, and there was not much pain.

The Psycho had been destroyed by the fires, of course. Not some burning God of Death... that wouldn't make much sense, now would it? But... how did all the dead bodies end up in Andy's room? How come the fire seemed to consume Andy alone, and leave the rest of the room intact?

Daybreak.

The remaining patients, Chaotix the cannibal, and Shlin the servant of the provider, emerged from the Crusty Asylum for the Criminally Interesting, which had been burning for days, in a slow, controlled flame. As soon as they emerged from the burning building, it collapsed on itself and was completely engulfed in flames. They walked away from the building, somewhat aware of the danger of being inside it. But now they were lost in the Greenpepper Mountains.

They saw the radio in the grassy field. Chaotix picked up the device and tried to eat it, because he hadn't eaten last night. As he bit down on a transistor, the radio crackled to life. The song that was playing was by Napoleon XIV...

Chaotix dropped the device in surprise, and the insane song stopped. Then Shlin picked it up and bashed it against his head and spoke into what looked like a speaker, but it had been dismantled and replaced with something else.

"Hello? Glorious Leader.... my dear, sweet provider.... where are you? Taka, my idol, my God... please speak to me..." said shlin28.

"Hello? Who is this? This is the Greenpepper National Park ranger station number 13, with whom am I speaking?" crackled the voice on the radio.

"God.... is that you?" said shlin28.

"Oh no... another nutjob from that insane asylum across the state lines got ahold of a radio transmitter again... someone call the building's custodian. ...what? They still haven't gotten power? And the telephone lines are out? Oh my gosh, they must have gotten overlooked after that terrible storm. We'll send you a rescue crew right away, mister...?"

"Servant of God."

"Right, mister... Servant of God... is there a nice orderly or a doctor we can speak, mister Servant of God?"

Chaotix27 snatched the radio from shlin28 and shouted into the device.
"We are in the field adjacent to the Crusty Asylum, and it burned down... we are the only survivors... please hurry... please.... I am a cannibal and I haven't eaten in days... and shlin28 is starting to look like a rack of lamb...."

"I am the lamb of God. Please eat me, mister Chaotix." said shlin28.

Chaotix: "Okay...."

Chaotix27 was rescued by the team of volunteers who patrolled the mostly unpopulated wilderness in Greenpepper. They asked him where the Servant of God went.... and he replied.... "he's in a better place now." And the rescue workers nodded solemly, thinking they understood.

But Chaotix just smiled and thought about how delicious he was.

This is a fun and unusual game, as is typical of my games. I will say right off the bat that this is not like the Golden Rule, this is a more standard kind of game, but always with a twist. Most everyone here is roleplaying a mental patient, or has specific things they must do to participate under the constraints of their role, so do not discount anyone as a suspect and do not think that just because someone is acting suspicious that means that they are mafia. Everyone has an equal chance of being the killer or killers.

However, you also make sure that you send in an anonymous tip to the police every single time you do this, because you only want the bad people to be claimed by the Death God, and cannot stand it when innocent people die. You're simply doing the Death God's work, nothing wrong with that, is there?

However, you're not the only person who can prevent the Psycho from doing his deed, so if you block someone and there's no murder, you can either assume it was because of you, or because of someone else. You can prevent night actions against one target. Do not reveal your role; remember, you're mentally ill. However, you can tell people that you'd like them to go "on vacation". Congratulations, you're a sociopath!

You're a mental patient in the hospital who has been committed because you hear voices in your head which tell you to do things. Most of the time, it's God talking to you. He says that you must follow someone around and protect them from the Devil. So, you obviously went down to the gun shop and got yourself a nice big shotgun and filled it with silver ball bearings, which can kill the devil. It's obvious that only silver ball bearings, shot from a gun, can kill the devil. You know this because God told you how to kill the Devil, and that your mission on Earth is to kill the devil.

However, you are also instructed not to kill the innocent. So, you're never quite sure if it's the devil or not; what you do instead is follow someone all night, with a solemn and grim expression on your face which would frighten the dead, and you rub your shotgun and make it shine up real purty, and threaten to kill anyone who comes close to your chosen innocent. You are a guardian angel... remember always to do the Lord's work.

There is a roleplay aspect to your role, you must, during the day phase, "sit in a corner" and shine your gun, looking suspiciously at everyone else here. Obviously this will make you seem suspect, but... that's what you have to do to roleplay as the Stalker.

We are a mental patient in the hospital who has been committed because the world doesn't understand, we are actually several people. It's perfectly normal to have more than one individual inside our brain. We try to tell the people with one body that just because we are a little different, that's no excuse to persecute us. In fact, we hear the thoughts of the others... and they may not realize it, but they are a part of our collective minds as well. Everyone in the world lives inside our minds, and it is the others who are in denial about their true nature. NO... we are one person... the others are just our imagination. We can control the voices... we can... if we all do this together. NO... we must do this ourselves... without the help of the others...

You have the ability to steal the powers of any other player in the game during the DAY, and use them that NIGHT on anyone else, if they have powers. This is important, I need your DAY action before NIGHT phase, so I can apply your actions to the person you specify at NIGHT.

I think the puzzle was fairly straightforward. One confirmed serial killer/vigilante, boudica, and one detective who kills everyone he investigates. I gave the serial killer the ability to kill Andy, as well as the Death God, and Taka the suicide bomber, and also Omanes himself, who could suicide.

But it was still a trickly solution, given some of the people who could kill Andy were dead. it was always the option for Omanes to kill himself, so the town always had a chance of winning. And if 3 players survived the final night, Omanes could kill himself on the FINAL final day.

I realized after boudica died that the game could be too easy, so I made Andy lynch immune if he investigated himself, which he did.

The game had 3 detectives... a cannibal detective, a mute detective, an insane detective, and psychonaut, who could steal detective powers.

That's 4 potential detectives.

The town controlled who could die, because Andy was pro-town. Boudica was neutral, all she had to do was survive, and she could claim vigilante because she was the only one. Taka was a one-shot vigilante who could kill Andy at any time. We had defenders and roleblockers too. And any investigation on the Arsonist would have turned him up innocent, thus making him unlikely as a lynch choice.

He was overpowered, but the entire game was full of powerful roles. I wanted you to win. And the arsonist couldn't really do anything until he died. And he could just as easily have lost you the game... had he picked someone besides Andy, you would have lost.

So... Gobbledygook chose who the fires killed himself, huh? I suppose we have him to thank for our victory.

This is probably the first mafia game as town where I feel genuinely happy about winning, probably because I figured out the whole story before the final write-up.

I very much enjoyed the game itself. Playing a cannibal was... interesting, to say the least.

And at the last, I feel the need to put it out there (as if it weren't obvious enough in my sig ) that my large mafia game is next up after the Settlement and Inishmore are over. It's called "The Council of Villains", and it will contain a lot of role-play roles- so if you liked this, you may like that one. Additionally, it shamelessly pulls many elements from other recent mafia games, including ATPG's own "Full Monty".

Well I had a lot of fun being a lier and I did have the suspision that andy was the psycho because I died when I admited to the crime one would think that any mafia would leave me alive since I would get lynched at some point because a wifom of that magnitude could not be allowed to last I will go back through all my posts here and point out the lies I said.
