This is what I'm talking about. You guys relax and know how to have fun. I don't see this in some of the other forums.

Wooooo!!!
Don't generalize, I'm hating all nations at the moment. Especially French and Mongols. Just read about some guy called Genghis Khan who apparently was very mean...
So don't go there. The beauty of internet forums is that there are literally millions around.
Despite my maturity, superior wisdom, refined culture, unique class and other appearances to the contrary, I was not too old to learn a few things when I became a member of the .org. I learned some debating techniques here that are very useful on bad forums. And I learned patience. People in most other forums are flabbergasted if you treat (and continue to treat) them with respect instead of personal attacks, one-liners and foul language. Some just don't know what to say, others PM you to express their gratitude and mods sticky your contributions as a model for others. It makes you more influential in a forum, people actually start listening to you.
In short, I have high hopes for the Internet if you all follow my lead.![]()
The bloody trouble is we are only alive when we’re half dead trying to get a paragraph right. - Paul Scott
I learnt all about posting etiquette in usenet. Mixing with some usenet veterans, who harked back to the days before the September That Never Ended, I learned about posting protocols, and why they existed. Mixing with people whose RL memories go back waayyy before the internet existed, I learned about life experience, and how the world works, and a fair degree of cynicism. I eventually migrated to web forums, which were the only venue for popular specialist discussion of TW games, but for learned discussion of general matters, usenet was the best in my experience.
i have learned a ton on these forums, and while there have been times when i wanted to yell at some people over the israel/palestine dabate, overall ive managed to keep myself calm.
these forums have made me a better person and more open to other views.
