True, but at times, this could mean the player would have go to some lengths to avoid taking a particular city if he intended for a more realistic conflict.

For example, as Getai, in conflict against Makedon, who owns all of Greece, you'd have to pass Pellas and conquer everything else... Or with one succesful siege defeat a faction. And not making the situation same for everyone would put certain factions at huge disadvantage.

Meh, I've just never been fan of 'sudden death' scenarios.

You could limit it to multiple regions (i.e. Macedon and Thessaly). Anyway, Foot already said that they will simulate it otherwise, so I'm curious how that will play out.

To the former point, that makes more sense already. Handing over ownership of the rest of the dominion would be quite unbelievable. though, more likely the central government would just collapse and new mini/city states/confederacies/kingdoms would form. To represent that plausibly with a(ny) Total War engine would probably be nigh-impossible, though. (Elite rebel stacks? *Sigh*)

To the latter point, I've quite a bit of confidence on the EB team overall, and if they intend to do something of this sort, they're more than likely going to implement something believable and gameplay-wise sensible... mehopes, anyway.
