Thirded. Although apparently resurrecting Byzantium will be even harder in MMP2.
I suppose I'll give V2 a try, Victoria was actually my first PI game but the one I've had the least fun with. Definitely the harshest learning curve.
Now if only they announced CK2, or a dark ages game.
It's a shame too because the Byzantine MM game is probably the most enjoyable and complicated game of EUIII I've ever played. It's nearly impossible though.
The closest I ever got to a "win" was claiming the Asia minor coast, then managing to scrape together the remnants of Greece under my banner. But as I was doing so, and managing to avoid the Ottoman hammer, BAM! The framed event. Ottoman's declared war the very next year. I think i lasted until 1520, I stopped playing when Thrace fell and I was an empire in exile in Athens. Most difficult game I ever played.
And you say it will be even harder? I'm both anxious and dreading it.
As for Victoria 2? After playing V:Rev over the last few days all I can say is BRING IT ON.![]()

Unfortunately I had a fluke of a marvelous game (Japan from 1836, managed to get civilized through events with only one brief rebellion and then modernized at a breathtaking place to bring me to 8th place) and so I've been struggling to reproduce that success. It seems impossible (the civilization events didn't trigger again when I replayed as Japan, no luck as any of the other interesting nations). Very frustrating.
OMG VICTORIA 2!!!
Victoria and its expansion were the best games ever made. I pity the poor fools who don't fully comprehend its vast deepness. For my part, it took a good two weeks before I understood it well enough to play a campaign without a read-me. And even now, I'm still learning a new thing here and there.
