I thought the developers where making an MMO based more on Diablo but decided Warcraft had the bigger brand name. It isn't about literacy, lore or literal interpretations of the name World of Warcraft it is about the Golden Rule... he who has the gold makes the rules. Or when it comes to lore: What sells more is lore.
