Default arty hotfix of 10/07 reintroduces unexplainable losses for stopped battles...

It seems, the arty hotfix of 10/07 has reintroduced the unexplainable losses one experiences if stopping a battle in the stage in which all enemy units are routing but after the "end battle" screen has appeared. This bug was fixed in 1.3 and I did not notice it in 1.4 either. However, after the last hotfix, I lost half a unit of line after stopping the battle during the enemy rout.

So, when they are all routing then put it on fast forward and let it run.

I learned by MTW not to stop battles until the enemy was gone or the clock ran out.

    Ouch!
It is somewhat annoying, as I like to let the game run on a little so that my troops can have the pleasure of shooting at the retreating enemy, but I don't want to chase every last router off the map and/or wait till the last of them exits the map.

Me too, I've nearly lost monitors and keyboards out of the window when this has happened.

Yes, I know about this "fix". Just, in 1.3 I did not have to rely on it anymore. Now they (CA) have fixed one thing and, along the way, broken something that was fixed already.

And never, ever autoresolve naval battles. Even when I win I lose ships of the line to single dhows or light galleys.

Not true. The key to autoresolving battles against galleys and dhows is to use ONE superior ship. A 5th rate, a 6th rate or even a brig will do. If you bring more than one ship (even if those are SOLs) to the autoresolve, you'll lose ships. I've done it over and over again.

Example: the French have a brig and a sloop at the game start in Marseille. Pirates are bound to send their galleys to raid the port often. If you fight the battles yourself, it's a waste of time (it will be pretty much the same battle over and over again) and you're likely to get your ships damaged or even sunk (if several galleys attack). Solution: park the sloop and autoresolve with the brig. Soon enough, the brigh will have top experience...
