Disable Campaign shadows in the option menu.

press the space bar to speed up the strat-map movement of your characters

if you give a movement order, try to just give the order for this turn (no red/blue directional arrows)

    have at least 2GB RAM

Do you have other progs running in the background?

No these thing are definetly not the problem. Perhaps the shadows are on, other than that it can't be anything. I have 2GB of RAM, but since it's my laptop i also can't upgrade it.

I know about all of the other things, i played EB and RTW since day one, so i know all of this "tricks" to make the computer run faster.
The thing that puzzles me, is that this happens only when Playing as the Romani, for example, with Seleucia i almost reconquered Alexander's empire save egypt and macedonia, but still had my armies fighting wars there, and the computer worked fine. Now as rome i'm expanding historically, and in 220 BC the game is almost unplayable

I'm sorry, but I didn't know anything about the level of your computer knowledge...

I changed some time ago to RTW-ALX.exe, and it runs way faster....maybe that helps.

Alternative we have to summon bovi.

Damn, no need to apologize, i wasn't trying to give the idea i didn't appreciate the advice or anything... At least you answered the post

I play with BI.exe. It's a completly different story when you have to have a navy so you don't allow your enemies to land on your shores...
But with the slow movement the campaign really became a bit boring...

That's strange. I've had some huge empires with more than 100 provinces with several factions including the Romani, on a 1GB RAM Laptop, and I never had that problem.
    I don't think it's the script either.

Are you sure it only happens in your Romani campaign?

You could try to start another campaign, then use cheats and blitzing to expand to the size of your current empire and see if it slows down too.

If you did not change any elements of the script, i.e. the roman reforms, I have no idea why it is only with the romans...
