lmao, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, and Hardees are hardly expensive. Actually, most liberals I know like to eat at expensive 'sophisticated' places like pricey Italian, and French places (and a lot of Chinese places). Nothing wrong with that though, sophistication is not a bad thing, but neither is liking plain food. It mostly has to do with the individual though.

Used to know a guy who used to buy chips at a chip shop than the one I used, because it was like 5p more expensive, so in their mind, must be better chips. (When they actually weren't)

Nothing weird about that if you studied basic economics... Price-quality link is strong, and people expect high-quality things to be expensive, and unfortunately, the vice-versa as well. But that is how we humans are - nothing you can do about it
