Ichigo is the winner. therother was the serial killer.

This time I have to believe it was not a random guess. Based on Ichigo's response, it must have been by the clues. A hard-won victory for the town, and a personal victory for Ichigo.

I made this one a bit more difficult, and I chose someone that I felt no one would guess immediately, or perhaps, even knew personally. I had run across therother in The Guild FAQ page, so he is a big name around here, or was at one point, I am sure. I didn't know him personally but he's a senior member, so I figured someone might have known him.

This time the clues were difficult to begin with. Explained:

Day One:

Orda Khan was sent back from whence he came. Only, you know, a little deader.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

I'm holding out for a hero. I have over 500 posts but less than 5000

Clues: almost everyone he kills has a mongolian avatar.

the word "hero"

therother has a mongolian avatar.
The postcount is obvious.
The word "hero"

Ok, the word hero makes this one solvable on the first round. Go to the members list and do a search for "hero". The only one with a mongolian avatar is therother. The only one with a postcount of 500-5000 is therother. Well except for Theronin.

Chances of solving this one on the first round were very good, but only if you did that search.

Day Two Summary:

Tratorix died.
Beskar died.
The other detectives survived.

Murders:

Gobbledygook was mortally wounded, but when he tried to call out for help, no one understood him.
Malik of Sindh was trampled by elephants before he could call a jihad.
Wladyslaw IV had his heart and viscera torn out and interred in the Chapel of St. Casimir of Vilnius Cathedral.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

All those being killed have a mongolian avatar.

Day Three Summary:

A Very Super Market died.
atheotes died.
Centurion1 was not attacked.
The other detectives survived.

Murders:

Yaseikhaan was about to change his name one more time, but he was taken down by his evil twin.
Baba Ga'on was buried up to his head in sand and the fire ants ate him alive.
R'as al Ghul was plotting the destruction of Gotham city, but he died in a train crash.
Kongamato.... the principle that occurred to him was death, indeed.
Lehesu was pushed into a soy processing machine. It was not a very healthy alternative.
Louis de la Ferte Ste Colombe was cannibalized by a bunch of tiny smurfs.
Al Khalifah was slain, his head placed atop a wooden stick, and became the lord of the flies.
Cebei died when a desk fell on him.
master of the puppets was very agitated by his own death. He never made it to the spin cycle.

One of these victims is not like the other. You should be able to tell which one.

Yaseikhaan was taken down by his evil twin. Yaseikhaan and therother have the exact same avatar.

"the other" almost matches "therother".

One of these victims is not like the other: one of the victims has an egyptian avatar, all the others have a mongolian avatar.

Day Four Summary:

Murders:

Abokasee was destroyed by the Bartixian hordes. Also a thing that replaces the ram but fires fire.
Krasturak wasn't sleeping in a coffin tonight, but he will be tomorrow.
Productivity won't be very productive anymore.
russia almighty was making brownies when his oven exploded.
Raz has an interesting life, o_O but also an interesting death.
shingenmitch2 was killed by THE DEADLY SHINGEN.
dopp confiscated a sword right into his stomach. It hurt a little bit.
Wolfman was torn apart by a wolf, man.
Crash crashed.
the man with no name also had no pulse.

Almost all of the remaining mongolian avatar users died this day. I seriously was running down to the low hundreds in post count to find more. The man with no name was the one who was not like the others.

Day Five Summary:

Cultured Drizzt Fan was killed.
All the other detectives survived.

Murders:

Kukrikhan was killed by the kookiest of khans.

The Serial Killer left a clue.

Kukrikhan is one of therother's friends.

Kookiest of khans... khan refers to Yaseikhaan, kookiest would be therother... Khaan's evil twin, basically. Kind of a stretch but it's there.

Finally: therother's title is "Research fiend".

Solved by Ichigo in 5 days.

Clear victory. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

However, 5 detectives died, and a massive amount of victims fell to therother.

With each successful arrest, some of the clue types will change. However, the one thing that will remain stable is the letter clues. Even if you fail to understand all the other clues, the letters basically give you a piece of their name anyway. The objective being to figure out the name before everyone else, and so the harder clues will yield the name sooner, but will be more difficult to solve.

I also try to make the puzzle solvable on day one, but very difficult.
